Out of all current Reply series, this is the best 👍 I love how they chose wedding for Sun Woo and Bo Ra instead Taek and Deok Sun, showing that this drama is not about love triangle. It's values more than just love line. How Sun Woo and esp Bora got lot of screen time is awesome too, esp with Bora and Sung Dong Il. So touching. This drama also not judging each character's life story. They don't conclude how Jung Hwan love story, what happened to Dong Ryong, Jung Boo oppa, No Eul etc. This drama keep everything grounded. Neutral, realistic, cause that is life. Because life is such a long journey with lot of possibilities. Thank you Reply 1988 for such warm and thoughtful drama 👍

I totally agree! That's why I love this drama, it doesn't focus only on two main characters. People tend to focus on a couple they're shipping, but this drama is more than that. Every character has their own little story. If they showed Taek and Deoksun's wedding in the finale instead of this, it would've been so cliche, and we know they ended up together anyway, and they showed us a glimpse of the parents' reaction on the movie date "scandal". Besides, SW and BR romance is also special in its own way, they deserve to have some spotlight too.

I cried so much while watching the last episode. I suddently miss my family, my friends even I can meet them everyday. This is the BEST ending ever. For those who said many things rude to PD and the writter, I dont know how old are you, but plz put your ego down and feel the soul of this drama, and plz treasure every minutes of your life and spend beautiful words for people all around you, even on the internet :).

I know life is unfair, but not even give a little update of what happened to Junghwan later in life is too much. #teamjunghwan deserve at least one moment of him where he meet is future wife.

The ending was bit rushed. They should have given closure to all Characters. I m fine with them not showing Taek Deoksun Marriage.

I read that junghwan was supposed to die at the ending but the writer change it, thats why we didnt get any jh backstory. So that taek became the husband was really decided from the beginning, but the things between duk seon and jh was also real...

The main couple looks like like oppa-dongsaeng (older brother-younger sister). Reply 1988: Team Taek. The most heart-warming reply series. The main couple looks like noona-dongsaeng (older sister-younger brother). So far, my number 1 is still Reply 1997 because the ending gives me sweet and happy feeling. I love Reply 1988, but the ending gives me empty and bittersweet feeling and it makes me want to cry. So, Reply 1988 is my number 2. I used to hate Reply 1994. However, after watching Reply 1988, I understand why Trash Oppa is the husband. 😁 There is a rumor that a next reply series is between Reply 1980 or Reply 2002. I hope they will release Reply 2002 soon, because it will be very nostalgic for me. I also hope they will make Reply 2008 (my era). Hahahahaha...

and taek who's always tired and can barely even talk doesn't deserve deoksun what has he done for her? take a look at what junghwan did for deoksun and what taek did for her, junghwan's on a different scale he has shown his love to her since the start and he truly cares about her..

So disappointed in the writers... they first introduce JH as the main male lead and gave us a ton of hints that he'll be the husband indeed. and in the end they leave him as an extra and give him no happy ending or closure?! wth writers?!

That's the one thing I hate about this drama! I mean, I don't mind so much that she ended up with Taek cuz they're actually sweet together, but the fact that they gave no closure AT ALL for Jung Hwan makes me very angry.
