As we journey through the heart of the Ningaloo Reef, we're treated to a feast for the senses. From the historic Cardabia Station to the breathtaking vistas of Ningaloo Station, every stop along the way reveals another facet of this untamed wilderness. We explore iconic landmarks like The Lagoon and The Giant Sand Bar, discovering hidden gems like South Lefroy and Winderbandi beachside campsites, before crossing the famous Yardi Creek.
But the adventure doesn't end there!
We make pit stops to soak in the turquoise waters of Turquoise Bay, traverse the majestic landscapes of Cape Range National Park, and take in the panoramic views from the Vlamingh Head Lighthouse. Surfers' paradise awaits at Dunes Beach, and we catch a glimpse of history at the Naval Communications Station on the tip of Exmouth.
Fishing enthusiasts, rejoice! We try our luck at Bundegi Boat Ramp, the Mildura Wreck, and Learmonth, reeling in the day's catch amidst breathtaking sunsets and epic sneaky campsites.
Exploring the vibrant town of Exmouth, we wet our beaks with local brews at the Froth Brewery and Whalebone Brewery, before venturing to Town Beach, where a local tip leads us to the secret ridge line hikes of Charles Knight Canyon. Breathtaking and perilous, these hikes offer unparalleled views that leave us in awe.
But the real challenge awaits as we take on the 8.6 km hike between Charles Knight Canyon and Shothole Canyon. Spending two spectacular nights off-grid in Shothole Canyon, we explore its empty river beds and marvel at the sheer beauty of these monstrous canyons.
