Mine don’t come up! I’m told they are oil, not gas… it’s apparently what they should do for the back

I do prefer an oil shock since its pretty apparent when they fail...hmm, maybe a parts cross reference?

What about the metal sleeve that's supposed to be in the lower shock hole? Shock looks like it's too loose on the bolt

hi mate Iwas traveling in my kombi hit a pothole and snapped the top bolt of my rear shock now i cant get the piece of the bolt out of the welded nut and there's no access from the back any ideas on how to fix would be great cheers from oz

depends on how fused that bolt is to the nut...there are extraction kits for bolts that have sheered off. I used one, once. You tap the remains of the bolt in the nut with a special drill bit then sink this other bit in (the kit has it)...and you can remove it but, if its really stuck....you may consider just getting one good drill bit and drill out the nut, re-thread yourself and put a new bolt in there. Man that is as tough as loosing an exhaust manifold bolt in the head...ugg! Let me know how it goes!

Thank you for the great video. The only reason I watched this was to find out if the top bolt was held by a separate/loose nut, or a part of the frame as someone said welded nut to the frame.

With brake shoes looking that dirty but no wear it appears that they are not making contact when braking. You should adjust the star to make closer contact. Your braking will improve.

Just found your channel great videos on the bus. we have a 1978 Devon camper with type 4 engine CJ and 3 speed automatic transmission. Quite rare in the Uk. Not a lot on KZfaq about the transmission unfortunately can’t get anyone to work on it. Do you have any ideas for websites for parts in the USA Cheers Pete

The Devon is a handsome bus indeedie, auto is very rare indeed, that is going to take a stroke of luck to find someone to restore that transmission. Ill look around and see what I can find. You could try jbugs.com. I'll keep looking =)

How are you liking these shocks? I purchased the super expensive KONIs on Bus Depot, and I have nothing to compare them to since I didn't drive it with stock or old shocks. I felt I could have gone cheaper but people swear by them.
