Love your beautiful Wedgewood dishes... That lady was so proud to tell you they were from her family. And...the linens, such a piece of homemakers' lives in the early 20th century.... All that handiwork always reminds me of my grandma and the farm ladies. That work is so delicate. I'm glad for people who love and preserve it.

Congrats on your Wedgewood. That is my favorite china pattern. It wouldn't bother me if it had a metal rim - I would never put it in a microwave - or a dishwasher, I would treat it like a baby. The creme soup bowls are kind of hard to find. And those little towels with the loops are called huck toweling, My great grandmother used to embroider them.

Nothing more scary than really old seniors citizens with lots of interesting tattoos, bonding with the younger generation... sign of a degrading times - everybody needs to express themselves... used to be that if you had tattoos - be able to be covered with sleeves, especially working for many municipalities & in government jobs... but then maybe too conservative & old...
