The name Ephesus, comes from an Amazon woman, as Smyrna (Izmir) close by.Ionian Greeks from Attica (Athens region) establish the first town around 800 BC, and created the temple of Artemis(Roman Diana), but never forgot Ephesus and gave to this mythological woman their respects.
