In this video I'll be documenting our new natural leather and houndstooth custom upholstered interior on the Datsun 280z! Ian's Auto Interiors did the work and it's amazing!
Journey to our upholsterer's shop to pick up our Datsun 280z after it's interior had a complete transformation. With light-colored carpet and houndstooth accents to match, this is a truly epic interior done by some incredible crafstmen at Ian's Auto Interiors in Las Vegas.

No detail was spared, with leather seats, leather sun visors, custom leather shift booth and a transformed rear-hatch section, we were blown away at each step.
In the rear we had a custom speaker box made, ready to mount some Arc Audio Moto 602 6.5 inch speakers, with some 4 inch speakers in the stock location. We mated that to a small amplifier under the passenger seat and a Retro Sound Datsun 280z replica head unit. The head unit left a little to be desired as you'll see in the video. Overall this is plenty of speaker power for this car and you probably wouldn't need any additional speakers or subwoofers.
With a "Z" emblem stitched in leather on the rear hatch. you'll never not notice the quality of the craftsmanship, and I still am left speechless at all the diamond stitched details around the cabin.
We utilized several parts from Skillard Automotive including the door cards and door handles, but we had those customized with our design of houndstooth and Vinyl leather, we also wrapped the door handle in leather as well.
With all this added material inside the cabin, and with additional sound-deadening, this car is so much more comfortable to drive on the highway, you can actually talk to and hear your passenger now!
All together this is an absolutely incredible package of an interior and we are so happy with the outcome.
