Vernors is a Detroit institution. It's the oldest surviving ginger soda in the USA, created by a Detroit pharmacist James Vernor in 1866. His drugstore was on Woodward Avenue and Clifford Street. It no longer is made in Detroit but is instead bottle in a plant in Holland, Michigan which is in the southwest of the state.

Here in Michigan when we don’t feel very well due to an upset stomach we have Verners with chicken noodle soup.

A and W rootbeer taste the best when it is room temp and has lost some of its carbonation that way you can actually taste the flavor rather than the carbonation.

I wish I could send you some stuff. You need to try Faygo Red pop. And Koegel's Pickled Bologna.

We have those Entenmanns muffins here in Texas, too. Ours come in blueberry, chocolate chip, carrot cake and party cake. They are all soooooo good!!

I love foods that come in a tin because I think tins not only look cool but you can reuse them. My mom has a tin that was once filled with a variety of different cookies and she uses it to store her sewing supplies.

Growing up root beer & orange soda didn’t have caffeine in it, so most parents served it to kids. Root beer floats are great!

Born and raised in Michigan. Better Made bought out Made Rite chips in 1994, which was started in Bay City (birthplace of Madonna - where I grew up). When I was in 3rd grade, my class had a field trip and toured the Made Rite factory.

I love Little Bites! There are different flavors and my favorite is the Blueberry muffin. I'm not sure if they are everywhere, but we get them in Florida!

Vernors was a special treat when I was young , it was only sold in the Detroit area. So we would have it when we visited my grands. So Now it is all over and we always have it on hand during cold and flu season to help us feel better.

Vernors is like our "medicine". It helps with colds, or the flu. Upset stomach...vernors. Add vanilla ice cream, and you get a Boston Cooler. (named for the street here in Detroit, NOT the city) You REALLY need to try our Faygo. Best POP EVER!!!

i think the Entenmann's Little Bites are pretty much everywhere in the USA my favorite is the Crumb Cake variety, they are also really good heated a couple seconds in the microwave.

Hey Kate and Alex! I’m so happy to see another taste testing box duel lol. I believe Entenmann’s brand is sold nationwide here and so big bites most likely is nationwide. I def saw it in New York growing up and here in Florida as well as Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Those chocolates look so good. I’ve gotta try looking for the ones from Michigan. I keep forgetting to try those Hershey crunchers. They come in different candy flavors. Btw none of our mouthwashes taste like root beer. I kinda wish they did lol. I can’t wait for the next taste testing video.

Love your videos! Try the root beer with ice cream. Put ice cream in a cup and pour the root beer over the ice cream. We call them root beer floats! I’m sure you have tried them. Also coke floats are good! Can’t wait for another unboxing!

We get the Little Bites here in Colorado too! We have blueberry, chocolate chip, banana, party, and brownies! My 2 yr old loves them!

This was so fun to watch! I was born and grew up in Detroit so Better Made and Saunders where always in our home. To this day, I have never had a better hot fudge sauce anywhere. A very popular dessert you can still get in the Detroit area is the Hot fudge ice cream puff.....amazing!

A lot of Dutch and German families who immigrated ended up in Pennsylvania. Which is why you have towns with names like those. The same can be said for town names in all of the states that were colonies.

Your friendly neighborhood former Utz salesman here! Funny enough, while I've lived in Pennsylvania for the last 10 years, I'm actually in the Detroit area for an internship this summer! I've noticed that Better Made chips are really the only kind at any barbecues or get togethers I've been to so far, whereas in PA, everyone has their favorite brand and you'll find multiple kinds of chips at one party. It would be pretty difficult to get chips from PA in Michigan, and vice versa. The drive from Scranton, PA to Detroit, MI was around 10 hours, and that was straight through with minimal stops. It would be like you going by train to Germany just to buy a bag of crisps! With the Entenman's, it's not a surprise that someone has a pack on The Office: it was set in Scranton, where I live! Horsham (not far from Lancaster) is about 2.5 or 3 hours from us. And it's pronounced PEH-CAHN! Lol

if we live in or near a big city with a central market, we can get products from around the country. some stores specialize in doing just that.

Try a root beer float, really good. When A&W first started , they were the first drive in restaurant here, you could get a glass gallon jug to take home and bring back to refill. My Dad loved an A&W root beer float so guess that’s why I like them too.

I now live in Detroit Michigan I lived in Pennsylvania from the age of 15-19. So this comparison makes me happy. I lived in Chester County area of Pennsylvania about an hour to an hour and a half outside of Philadelphia.

When I was young, since we were not well off every Sunday my mom-n-dad would take us to the A&W drivethrough. We would get a quart box (think it was a quart)and that would be our special treat for the week. Still love A&W. Rootbeer floats, even coke floats are delicious.

Rootbeer floats are best way for rootbeer not much for just drinking rootbeer but when its with ice cream it some reason makes it better

For clarity: Entemanns started as a regional brand but hs been a national brand for more than four decades. In y opinion, when you grab a box of donuts you hope they taste as good as Entenmanns.

The Little Bites come in many flavors. Most are fruit muffins but they also have the brownie bites along with the cake bites. Some of my faves are the blueberry and the banana.

Love seeing so many things from my homestate, PA. Yes, that Tastycake was stale they're not that hard and don't have a very long shelf life. Try your Vernors gingerale with orange juice. Glass of ice with half orange juice and half Vernors! It's our traditional drink every Christmas morning 😋
