Epic Battle Fantasy 5 - How to Deal 10 Million Damage in One Hit

You "only" have to do 10 million damage to get the achievement in this game, but despite this there are way more moving parts now than there were in EBF4 and it's actually quite possible to push the number way higher than it was previously. Here's how!
I definitely don't recommend skipping the setup part of the video because it's pretty important to be properly configured, but if you really want to the actual fight starts at 4:57, the big number happens at 9:24, I talk about math at 9:45 and some closing remarks happen at 14:40.
For a couple different reasons I didn't do the absolute most damage that I could have in the video, but it was way more than was necessary to get the achievement(s) and if you follow all the steps better than I did you should be able to do some truly staggering numbers. (Haha, geddit, "staggering?" Because that's one of the status conditions? Never mind.)
I'm not going to write out a miniature guide for how to do this in the description this time around because it'll go on forever and I want to encourage people to actually read this, but the tl;dr is that you need to bone up on your Dark/Magic Attack power on Natalie and go to town with the Black Hole limit break.

It's written pretty well. Even if you got the achievement by following this video, I recommend going and giving it a read anyway and maybe thanking the author, since I would have had a much harder time doing this without it.
Also, shoutout to my sister for putting the leash on the rabbit because apparently I'm too much of a dumbass to figure out how to do that myself. Who puts their rabbit on a leash, anyway?

For those reading this in 2021+: There's a skill called "Shockwave" which has a high chance of causing stagger by just hitting it. I put mine on Lance and the strategy worked too.

You can get a guaranteed crit by having both "luck" and "brave". This should save you having to rely on "stagger" for crits

Use the badge that gives haste when you skip your turn to go way faster instead of waiting the haste for one hour

Edit: if one or two of the statuses aren't in effect you can still do enough damage to get the achievement, it's only if you want to see how high you can make the number in which you'll need them all. If you don't want to deal with the critical hit luck hax, for example, you should be able to leave the Stagger effect out and still do more than enough damage to get it. - - - - This video took a really long time to make and I'm glad I finally finished it before never, which probably means there's going to be something dreadfully wrong with it now that I've finally posted it. Probably the math at the end. Anyway, how did you guys fare?

Just beware of Instant Death, Supernova is a safer, but slighly harder, option.

I forgot to mention, one of the other nice things about bunnies is that they're immune to instant death. So that's something you'd probably have to worry about if you tried it somewhere else, but not really here.

If you cast Natalie Doll on your black hole attacker to buff their MATK, the death effect is a moot point since this summon also gives morale status.

In retrospect I probably should have mentioned somewhere that you can afford to ignore a status effect or two (critical hits are probably easiest) and still get the medal, since you only need to have them all working together if you want to see how far you can push the number.

Well I followed this, gave it some improvisation (Syphon + Stun!) and it's so freaking ez XD Lvl 36 when this was done. 110M damage dealt, pretty good

7:57 Thank for making this video! FYI, there’s a spell that extends status effects, which might have helped save you some time, rather than redoing the first few steps, I thinkkkkk. Also, “err on the side of caution”, “err” is pronounced like “air”, at least so I’ve heard.

I did this with a cataclysm vs mouse slimes. Wanted to see how much damage a cataclysm could do with the right setup. basically Maxed out Soul Eater, Genji armor for buff and earth damage, Dragon helm for just damage pre orbs. If I remember correctly I did this at level 33 with the debuffs and buffs being (80% attack, -80% defense, Heavy, Enchanted, Freeze, and Stagger) and got 10 mill damage

I managed to do this in 2 turns with a similar strat but I used Gaia's gift (bow) and chrome earrings to save a turn. First turn: Gave Natz brave and good luck and gave the slimes weak. Second turn: Debuff, buff, Stagger, freeze/invisible, B O N K (rip slimes)

Having someone equipped with RAM Chip and Juicy Beast will give you both a higher max SP limit and a way to gradually regenerate SP respectively. Not only that, but collecting monster cards can also give you an even higher max SP limit (up to 40 points), so it *is* possible to summon all 3 featured monsters in this method at Level 36. I know this because I was able to summon the Viking Monolith once the stagger procced on the target monster and then complete the other steps no problem. Another thing to note is that having Natalie defend with the featured equipment will *boost her magic attack significantly and give her good luck* , so you honestly don't need Matt to give her cola...or even need Stagger, for that matter. Just have Matt reapply Temper on her, and the good luck + brave will guarantee a crit.

In short: If you inflict many statuses, and wear the right equipment while casting the right attack the enemy will take big ouchies

in the updated version you can just use 2 gloops and then you have 3 turns for a stagger rather than waiting for haste i was able to get 35M dmg at lvl 35 great tutorial

Jeez, the achievement’s only for 10mil, not for 101mil! But seriously though, I couldn’t believe that I got the achievement, BUT THEN I couldn’t believe my eyes went I saw in my records that max damage was 101,672,129! Before that, it was 1,533,015.

5:20 why should weaken mater AT ALL for damage? 6:00 wish I knew about this before. I mighta actually used status effect freeze more often, thought the duration was a combination average of both effects.

i didn't have to wait that much I had my characters on level 37 just begun with freezing and staggering then haste and weakening to 20 then I made the middle slime invisible and boom it got to 37 million it took like 3 mins

Base power of a move actually doesn't get you that far (max power Revenge is "only" twice as strong as Black Hole), almost all of the damage buff comes from modifiers like Weaken and Critical. You might be able to do it depending on what other modifiers you can stack on, you'd have to do the math.

People have pointed out that there are other ways to do "only" 10m, but you can go way beyond that with this if you get everything to work at the same time

I wanted to try revenge with low hp. But. Well not against those things. Got virus on them and them to infect me. Heal them with absorbed element. But yea takes way longer than my patience lets me.

Yeah but most bosses have resistances to at least a few of the things on this list so you won't be able to get as far.

Actually some early strats for killing the last boss required to do something very similar to this, using Matt's Cleaver to take the first phase and then a similar Black Hole strat with Natt to kill the second one.

The fact that you didn't use Good Luck from Charm (Natalie Magic Attack Buff) is seriously disappoint me. In EBF 5, having enemy stagger will give you guaranteed critical but having Good Luck or Brave (Physical only) can give you stacked critical. So having stagger and Good Luck or Brave guaranteed critical x2 with chance to deal x3 critical damage. Having Good Luck and Brave on Physical against Stagger allow you to even deal 4x critical damage Bad Luck in other hand increase chance of taking disadvantage so you easily struck by abnormal status, instant death or critical so inflict Bad Luck make it easier the chance to deal 3x and 4x critical damage

I dealt 10M Damage in two turns lol here's what happened Turn 1 Formation: Matt Anna Natz Matt uses temper for brave Natz uses her normal attack to inflict invisible then Anna freezes with her ice arrow Second Turn Matt switches out Anna with Lance Updated Formation: Matt Lance Natz Matt uses VM Matt buffs Natz with Cola Lance Debuffs slimes Magic Defense Lance uses Fireworks Natz uses Black Hole and KABOOM

Bruh.... you could have save more time if you just let lance equip the time gun clock.. it boost the chance of haste much more faster while waiting for stagger.... like after the target is weaken enough just equip the time clock gun.

The easiest way to do this is probably by instant death on a high health something that has more than 10 mil health

ima grind to lvl 50 later... its gonna take a week so... for those who dont have a easy way to grind exp my way is using "redacted info* with "redacted info" and i ended the "error" boss easily *fun fact* u get same rewards after finishing battles meaning u could just grind on easy...

Hey just wanted to say you overcomplicated it a lot,it only took me 10 mins(I used supernova,inviz stat with Natalie's staff and dry and debuffed they're magic defense,then I just used viking monolith twice and staggered using lance's limit break Note:this was done on an icecream slime)

Actually, I think that would work also. When I add up invisible (2), dry (2), mdef (5-ish), matk (1.8), double critical (2.25) and assuming you had similarly large equipment buffs (2-ish) with fire boosts (1.5-ish?) I get a multiplier of a few hundred times, which should be enough to get 10m on something that's weak to fire.
