If you're really paying attention you can see the birds aren't friends with either cat, but since the lighter cat was more docile the birds taunted it more to encourage the fighting since the black cat already had a fire started

Those crows were actually instigating the cats to fight by aggravating them, so that they could either finish off the loser if it's injured enough, or stalk it until it succumbs to its injuries, and then have a feast. It's like how crows swarmed around battlefields before the fighting even began, which is how they became a symbol of death. Hell, a flock of crows is called a murder. The cats are too stupid to realize that they are being "hunted" by intellectually superior foes. This happens all the time. Nature is scary.

It's so funny that the crows are just LOVING this. Little trolls. 🤣 They are definitely egging those cats on, and I feel like they'd award each other points when they successfully grab a tail. Corvids absolutely love tails - cats, dogs, rats, other corvids. They'll even pull a bird of prey's tail if they can get close enough. There are some great clips of corvid teamwork - 2, 4, even 5 of them strategically boxing in another animal so they can tease them.
