If your thinking of walking up to Pen Y fan from the Storey Arms or Pont Ar Daf car park then this video is one to watch. The regulars call it The Motorway.
The four mile circular walk from the Storey Arms Outdoor Center or the nearby Port ar Daf car park is a great walk. Starting at around 440m, the climb to Pen y Fan’s will take you to the summit at 886m.

So does it mean we can fly with drones at Pen Y Fan? National trust says it doesn't allow drones on its land. ??

I also looked into this. Firstly they can write whatever they like on their website, but they don't own the airspace, if a helicopter flys above your house can you put up a sign saying 'no fly zone'? Of course, but it isn't law. Then they refer to byelaws written in 1965 referring to no aircraft use, clearly wasn't written for drones, I think they may have grounds to stop you using it as in taking off and landing on their ground.

Storey Arms (west slope) is a steeper incline and can be quite challenging, especially the last 50 yards where the incline just gets steeper to Corn Du. So, depending on what you prefer, I use Storey Arms ascent.
