We attempt to circumnavigate the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes and end up in the most epic fail of my jet skiing experience. Hydrilla and other aquatic growth immediately leave us adrift in alligator infested water of Big Toho. We make the best of it and perform self rescues. (this video is about: Bob Broeking, WhiteSpider, Jet Skiing, Jet Ski, Yamaha Waverunners, FX Cruiser, VX Cruiser, Seadoo's, jet skiing on lakes, jet skiing on rivers, jet skiing in the Gulf of Mexico, jet skiing in the Ocean, jet skiing in Natural Springs, how to jet ski in Florida in 2022, adventure Jet Skiing)

One thing about riding jets in weeds it has to be full throttle an jet trim down. If starting in shallow water sit as far foward as possible trim down an full throttle just pin it! Hopefully it will help

Those are SureCans…. Not cheap but the best 5 gallon container out there… you don’t have to pour from a nozzle … gravity drains it out a tube T the bottom… you control the fuel flow…. Amazon and other retainers… search SureCan… thanks for watching! Bob

Great video! I really appreciate that. You show us what real life looks like on a WaveRunner. My wife and I have our own list of experiences we’ve learned the hard way. Can you comment or send me the name of the 360 camera you use on the back of the WaveRunner? I’m sure you’ve posted it somewhere but I’ve looked back through comments on previous videos and I can’t find it.

Thanks for watching.... yes that is real life! hahahhaha.... It is the Insta360 Camera - do that search and you will find the site. It takes 360 degree videos and the makes the selfie stick invisible Bob

@@BobBroeking did you buy a selfie stick with an attachment for your WaveRunner or did you make something else? I’ve got a Yamaha FXHO 2023 with a rec deck on the back. Just wondering what you have it held up with

@@PaulSpeedWITMinistries I have a Shorlock cargo rack with flag pole holder so I just secure the selfie stick in the flag pole holder. Alternatively I have also just stuck the selfie stick down in my PFD and I almost get the same shot. In my next video you will see that method and the shot it gives… you just need something in the back you can secure the base of the selfie pole in or attach it to something (seat handle) you don’t want to lose it though! $! 😎 I use the Insta350 36" selfie stick

My experience is that while there can be some gators out in the middle of those Florida lakes during the daytime, the majority of the time they seem to prefer the shore areas or around docks. I remember sitting on a dock off Lake Okeechobee watching the sunset and just watching dozens of gators leaving the shore area to head out for their night feeding. Yeah, we’ll, of course there’s always gonna be one or two out in the middle of the lake at the same time you’re trying to rip hydrilla out of the intake, but in general, they don’t want to mess with you unless you kick at it or you’re near its nest. Famous last words - Mike
@BobBroeking
@BobBroeking Жыл бұрын
You are generally correct; in lake Toho they are everywhere...Shawn found a video of some hunters pulling big ones out of the area we were stuck in close to shore...remember we never got more than .2 miles from shore! hahahhahahahahha You are right, I have never had a gator be anything but afraid of me and the waverunner; I just don't want to run into the one courageous alligator in Florida. :-)

No tools needed really, you just have to reach under there and grab and tug until it comes loose; usually after tugging you will get the whole basketball sized clump to float free.

@@BobBroeking so if anything goes deeper, past the grate or like a twig, just call it a day?
@BobBroeking
@BobBroeking Жыл бұрын
@@JasonGolf if it goes deeper and sticks in the impeller you are dead in the water. Some carry a metal rod like tool to try and clear it but if you are on the water you are doing it blind and just poking a metal tool all around in there… not good in my opinion… that’s why we all carry tow ropes. Better to try and clear impeller while it’s sitting on the trailer. Never had that happen.

Bob. This is hard to watch. Don't you have a depth finder 😢? Why on earth would anyone try to take a waverunner over that crap? Can't be more than 3 ft? It's asinine. Very disappointing. At least I can watch this train wreck as further education of WHAT NOT TO DO. If anyone needed that.😅
@BobBroeking
@BobBroeking Жыл бұрын
You ask some good questions and they were all answered in the first minute of the video by me. We all have depth finders, we were in about 7 - 9' of water and 6 1/2 - 8 1/2 feet of hydrilla. Depth finders tell you water depth, not weed depth. We had zero intel on this particular lake and I do not know if this is the first video you have watched on my channel but we do adventure touring and we often do not know what we will encounter until we encounter it. Thanks for watching even though it was hard! lol
