The springtime fishing adventures were a blast in this one! We started off kayak fishing, then we hit the lake below the river, then we drove into the mountain pass to catch some trout and explore for morel mushrooms! I believe this was the first time I ever ate fresh morel mushrooms! We tried new seasonings and just generally had a great time! I hope you enjoy this epic fishing adventure!

Mushrooms that are older can be rehydrated by soaking in water with some sea salt added. Beautiful spots for fishing & foraging!! Lovely morels, great finds!! 🥰

Your dad was saying somebody paid $60 for a pound I looked them up online and they wanted $50 for a quarter of that. It is unreal the prices. So if you can get them for free go get them seriously. In wisconsin here we cut ours length wise like a hot dog bun but nothing wrong with that at all! Duo them in flour or pancake powder then cook in butter but everyone has their own style! Keep up the awesome vids!

hey Ace.. on the topic of frogs for trout, there's a stream near me and you can catch them on most baits early morning or late evening, but no joke if you can catch those little frogs on the bank the trout will hit them all day long.. anytime I go there and want to limit out quickly I just use the frogs, by far the best bait in that stream (Missouri)

This year was a mediocre year for me on the morel mushroom front. Found probably 100-150 of them. On a prime year I’ll find 1,000+. Also, those other mushrooms your dad found look to be some variety of Gyromitra. Without closer inspection it’s hard to say if they were the edible kind or 💀 kind. Great video!

I know you guys only had the stream but what my dad does when he goes mushroom hunting he soaks the morels in salt water for a bit to get the bugs out. Morels are very yummy. They’re really good fried in batter too!

Not sure if you actually reads the but you should have a moral carved into the top of that walking stick so your ancient can look at it while he's hunting. Keeps your mind on the look and you will find way more

Dead frogs and other animals are great food for fish. As well as, fresh nuts and berries that fall into the river. If you look around your surroundings, natual bait is everywhere! Much love Ace and Me Ancient!

Dead fish are used for shellfish and chum, shellfish love dead fish that are fatty. And you csn always grind up your "trash fish" and make great chum!

Funny story... had a goose come to our salmon spot for about 4 weeks it stayed and would come and eat the bugs off our grill of our vehicles. But i just had a picture pop in my memories and the goose would stand on one foot and sleep

I grew up eating morels. Most recently a few weeks ago. Just a basic butter fry is good, but it's not how I prefer. I'd definitely recommend a ~15 minute rinse followed by a flour/salt and pepper coating before frying in your preferred oil/fat. Then add a touch more salt/pepper as needed. It really is one of the greatest treats. Even one of my uncles requested it as his last meal .

I recognize where you are by the mountain in the background of many of your shots. I live on the south side of that mountain and have hiked it many times. I respect your decision not to disclose your location but I don't agree with you reason. I recently bought a fishing Kayak. Inspired by you, your brother, and other You tubers. It's a used boat I got a good deal on. I'm at least 10 years senior to your ancient. What does that make me? :) I'm retired US Army! Semper Fidelis to your father. I thank him for his service. I Grew up in Utah and retired here in 1994. I've never caught a fish in Tennessee. Will this be the year?
