@@nikkibritton9937 no not really lol I’ll just inspect the area im in better. Make sure other peoples trash isn’t anywhere near by. And keep my cooking and food storage areas a little further away.

@@MountainSideProductionz I can't believe you go camping out in that kind of area all by yourself like that! If be terrified I'm the first place, and after your experience is never do it again! In fact, after my experience when I was younger of being chased by a bear I only went camping one more time. And I heard a bear sounding off fairly close to us and I never went again cuz I was too scared

@@nikkibritton9937 I feel you. My only issue was that I couldn’t see him. I was inside my tent. I could only hear him. So I didn’t want to surprise him if I was too close to him. So I stayed quiet and just kept reminding myself that I took all the necessary precautions so he should leave. And just had faith honestly. But you NEVER run from a bear. That was your first mistake. Most bears want to avoid you just as much as you want to avoid them. ALWAYS stand your ground. Clap, shout, and raise your arms up and down continuously until it leaves. Yell at the top of your lungs to go away. And keep repeating until it leaves. Works like 95% of the time. If it keeps approaching have bear spray. And be familiar with how it works and use it if needed for the other 4.99%. There have actually only been like 180 fatal bear attacks since like the 1700s. You’re more likely to be shot by a random person than attacked by a bear. Generally bears only attack if you run, or if they have cubs near by. And usually will only mess with tents if they smell food inside. Which is why you carry a bear canister and keep your food stored 150-200 ft away from where you sleep when backpacking. Otherwise the chances of them attacking is pretty slim honestly. I will say that I will probably get some kind of motion sensor light that makes noise that I can set up at night, get a new tent with a viewing window, leave my pack outside of my tent, and store my stuff even further away from now on. But I won’t let it stop me from doing what I love to do. That’s for sure.

@@nikkibritton9937 yea that would be scary. Especially if you don’t know what to do. And most people’s first instinct is to turn and run. If you do try to leave always back away slowly facing the bear no matter what and continuing to yell wave your arms and clap loud. Honestly bears aren’t what I worry about. Running into a mountain lion might be a different story. Luckily that’s never happened. Knock on wood…
