The story behind this movie is inspired from Hindu scriptures that there was a war happened in 3102bc named mahabhrat where a character called aswathama (role of Amitabh Bachchan or that old man) where he was cursed by Lord krishna with immortality as punishment for trying to kill a unborn baby and there was a gem in his forhead which give him powers. So kalki which is an avatar of Lord vishnu (who is protector and preserver of universe) born in after 6000 years of mahabharat to end the kali yuga or saved humanity. - this is just I give short information to understand trailer

The main leader of Complex treats himself as a god is "Supreme Yaasin". 3) Kalki Avatar has not been born yet he's inside Deepika Padukone's womb, her name is Sau 80 (in Mahabharat mother of Kalki is Saumati and Lord Vishnu). 4) Prabhas as Bhairava is a Bounty hunter and he needs 1 million Units to live in Complex (Only Rich people can live in Complex) also Unit is the Measuring unit for the source of power to run the Nano technology they are using to run the weapons and the world (Unit is like Money 💰 for them). 5) As per Mahabharat we are in Kaliyuga and this movie is the end of this world Kaliyuga and a new world will start from here as Satayuga. 6) Ashwathama cursed by Lord Krishna and snatched his stone (Power source) during Mahabharat because he tried to unalive a pregnant women but in this movie by the end of Kaliyuga he got his stone back and he will save Sau 80 because she is going to give birth Kalki. 7) Bujji the A.I informed Prabhas aka Bhairava that a 5 star ⭐ bounty of 1 Million units can be received whomsoever catches Sau 80. So, Prabhas tries to catch Sau 80 to receive bounty to live in Complex and Ashwathama is trying to save Sau 80 and Kalki in her womb.

He is playing the role of Aswathama, who is an immortal. 6000 years ago when the great battle of kurukshetra happened, he gets a curse from lord shri krishna. The gem you see in the trailer which amitabh was holding will be taken from him by lord shri krishna. And he remains on earth until the next avatar of Shri Vishnu which is Kalki arrives. So when the time came he got his true powers back you can say(thats why you see blood marks on his forehead before and a gem on his forehead after).

He is cursed for trying to kill unborn child of enemies so its poetic that he is going to save the baby who happens to be 10th avatar of vishnu.

Dont compare it to star wars oe madmax or ironman as its nothing like those genre.. This is based off of Indian mythology.. Amitabh bachhan is playing the role of Ashwathaama from mahabharat. He is the son of guru dronacharya who had trained the pandavas. Ashwathama is one of the 12 immortals that are walking now on this earth.. Ashwathama was born with a gem on his forehead and was a top warrior.. Towards the end of the Dwaparyug, ashwathama had killed the children of pandavas. Lord Krishna, the 9th avatar of Lord Vishnu had punished him by removing that gem from his forehead and cursing to roam in this world for eternity with a bleading forehead. Ashwathama's only salvation now is to protect the 10th Avatar of Lord Vishnu who is named Kalki.. Bhairava who here is Prabhas is the avatar of Lord Shiva and protector of the city Kashi as in the indian ancient texts.. Finally, the baby in Deepika Padukone is the final avatar of Lord Vishnu as per the prophecy who is born at the end of Kaliyug to destroy all evil on this earth.. they say he will come riding on a white horse with a blade to annahilate the evil and restore peace and faith n Earth...
