good job! i been catch those king off the jetty for over 15 years. I remember catching those kings before braid line was invented. Braid line made it a lot easier to catch them.

I love to cath kings especially when they are so fired up and eat topwaters.. 15 yrs is quit a while. But I would do the same brother I'm sure braid has made a lot of things ezer. What was your favorite setup when you started kingfishing

Thanks brother, i appreciateya🙏💯.. yes it definitely was a bit early. We actually camped out on the jetty. It can be a bit of an experience and definitely takes some getting use to. Man i love me some kingfish also 🤙

Kingfish are epic .. they are undoubtedly the kings of topwater eats. Well 2nd to a wahoo .. but a 51 inch Kingfish is pretty close💯🤙

Went there today and it sucked. Threw Slidogs, 3 oz spoons, and poppers. Just skip jack. Hopefully I can get some like you guys sometime. Maybe it was the full moon 🤷♂️

How was the water clarity..I'm sure it wasn't bad .. yes it can definitely be the full moon if theybare there they can be done feeding by the time the first boat leaves

@@southtexasfishingfam3436 yeah it was pretty clear. The skip jack were hitting like crazy though. I’ll tell you what the boats can get right up in front of you while you are casting. I was ready to send a spoon their way but I’m not from around Port A and not sure of the etiquette around there.

I hear that going alone to this jetty can be tough as your on a island and won't have assistance unless there are ather fisherman there also .. although it can be ok solo just pack enough water and snacks

@@southtexasfishingfam3436 looking for a good surf set up. You think an 8K Spheros SW with an 11’ Shimano Speedmaster is a good combo for surf and even jetty fishing? Or would a step down be better, like a 6K Spheros SW on a 10’-10’6 speedmaster surf rod?

Yep ..just can't eat to much of it because of the amount of mercury they have .. best way to eat is cooked in a bbq pit smoked.. I prefer to cook mine wraped in bacon

Yea I tried however halcos split rigs were tight they didn't let me they just wouldn'tlet me take the hook off not enough room on the tiny loop.. so I'm going to cut them old split rings off add new ones with better hooks💪💯🤙
