@@tematennis I just don't have Durnik and didn't want to craft. I'm trying Gretchen Twitchwillow the Simic 0/4 from the D&D set. She blocks well and can also draw cards and ramp if nothing better to do comes up.

@@williamwalton9154 If you mean Slogurk, you could also simplify the mana base and add the fetchlands and include Felidar Retreat, while reducing the discard/connive theme.

This is one of the most interesting decks I've seen lately. It's clear that people don't know how to handle Slogurk + channel lands, it throws them off. Very original and cool. Good job :)

hello CGB, my first comment on one of your videos, iam a big fan of your content. . This was rearly a fun deck to watch, and a great brew. I searched for a replacement card for denneck and found "The modern age" and "Thirst for discovary" wich booth could work with the Ooze. Greatings from Germany CGB

This deck is what I have been trying to do for a while in Bant, but I couldn't make it work until I saw you use Slogurk. It's amazing, I decided to swap out the Denick for Dorothea, popping her out for a 4/4, and then putting her on Slogurk when she dies is awesome he makes the 4/4 flyer attacking when you swing with him. One of the best parts is that none of the cards except the creature lands and the pathways in the deck rotate in september. I was 15-4 on the day in Mythic with it, started at about 1k, and am now around 400.

AWESOME DECK MUST WATCH this deck is a beast it even humiliated Ob like it was nothing it just blew through everyone deck just endless values and not a easy way to exile the Ooze really good card stayed till the end as always even through commercials for more support and can't wait to see what you do next and please never forget CGB you're cool 😎🤟🏾

this deck is amazing, its one of the most fun and competitive at same time you made in a long time - just for record, i was playing it agains a mill oponnent, he was at 9, and slug was on table just 3/3 , he milled half of my deck, paying 6 mana, and the slug goes to 13/13 and its head explondes insta, if i was recording this game it was on top 5 plays of the week for sure, tx cgb for this awesome deck

One the things I like most in this deck is that post rotation it only needs a bit of land adjustment. Spells are just fine like that. Question: wouldn’t it be worth to throw in a 1x (or 2x) Tamiyo, Compleated Sage? Her -X ability looks very much synergetic with this deck. Her +1 helps staying alive and her final… well…

I watched this deck on the stream and got matched against it yesterday. Since I was also playing control, it was one of the best matches I've had in months.

I've played for a couple of month a similar deck in the idea but with the couple grolnok/willow gest in addition. It is more "landfall" spicy and more creatural so less interaction : every interaction have to be a permanent to match grolnok specific capacity. I had not enough wild cards to cast every land you have. A lot of fun and the satisfaction to drive unused cards in standard.

I loved this deck from your first video so much that i've been playing a slightly modified version of it up to this day. And since most of the important cards won't rotate out of standard I can keep doing so. But is there a reason why the nonland card choices for this video's deck are rotation proof while the lands are not? Do we assume that the next set will have enough replacements for those?

If you are curious how this deck does with a larger sample size, CGB did play this on stream and it went 8-4. It did pretty well against boros burn beating it twice.

Tried this deck out today, lost first few games due to my poor decisions and opponent top decking like a champ, but after that it's been sweet. It's a difficult deck to pilot optimally but it's brutal once you get the ball rolling. I swapped dennick for moon dancer as I didn't have him.

Dunno if its any good, but you can use Littjara Mirrorlake to make a copy of slogurk, which will die due to legend rule, and get back the lake and 2 lands.

Yasharn is great vs. Ob Nixilis/Anvil nonsense. And vs. Goldspan/Storm. And you get 2 lands and a 4/4. My favourite card right now.

Seems like Slogurk would work well with creatures that connive. If you discard a spell, the connive creatures get their +1/+1. If you discard a land, Slogurk gets a +1/+1.

I feel CGB missed some Boseju synergy. You can Boseju your own land to ramp, and it puts 2 lands in the graveyard too

at 45:45 if he targeted the wedding announcement back to the opponents hand he would have been able to kill the night hawk and the Dracula because they would have lost a counter and with the Otawara being a land would have also grown the ooze
