Hello Fellow Audiophiles, & Friends: Thank you guys for another wonderful music presentation. The Wilson clarity is memorable but the utility machine look of the cabinets looks like it belongs in auto body shop. My wife wouldn't want them in the house even if they were free. Question from a layman who is learning about High-End and/or Hi-Fi sound systems... Almost all of the speakers that contain speakers have, inside them, passive crossovers that cut the frequency of physical form. In other words, when we talk about High-End or Hi-Fi residential sound, the speakers are always accompanied by passive/physical crossovers. Correct? In another scenario, in the world of High-End automotive sound, there are already systems where the speaker frequency cuts are not (not) made passively by a physical crossover, there are already systems that use DSP's (Digital Signal Processor or Digital Audio Processors). In these systems there is no physical crossover, as the frequency cutting of each speaker (tweeter, midrange, midbass, subwoofer) is done by the DSP in a digital and flexible way. So I ask: in the world of High-End and/or Hi-Fi residential sound, is there also a presence of DSPs?

Good question. The answer is no in 99% of the cases. DSP needs a further a/d and d/a conversion. In an high end system this is the main reason to avoid a DSP. An example of a rare highend loudspeaker that includes DSP is the mighty Bang & Olufsen BEOLAB 90. In the automotive world, DSP are well accepted because due to the complex acoustics of a car interior, the pros vastly outweigh the cons.

Is it one of the best High-End systems on the market today? What are its characteristics? What type (profile) of customer is it intended for?

Для миллионеров. Сама техника разумеется не стоит этих денег. Ничего особенного нет в сравнении с тем, что можно купить на общем рынке. А уж винил вообще никогда не понимал. Лучше цифра и удобней. А на слух не отличить.

Техника разумеется стоит этих денег, потому что за неё готовы платить и в первую очередь любители хорошего звука, а во вторую уже, люди, безусловно состоятельные. Никто не отрицает удобство цифры, но на этом её очевидные преимущества перед винилом обычно и заканчиваются. Ещё очень важно, как приготовлена цифра и как приготовлен винил. Этот фактор и даёт то бесчисленное количество вариантов, когда винил в конкретной системе звучит лучше, чем цифра в конкретной системе. Впрочем, как и наоборот. Но если такие элементарные вещи непонятны, утверждающим, что "цифра всегда лучше" - неутешительный вывод напрашивается сам собой: они никогда не имели дела с качественной реализацией, как цифры, так и винила. Они не ведают, о чём пишут и за это их можно только пожалеть.
