Mike and I are back at it again exploring a new permission near the river. With some luck, we discover a camping area in the woods and find some great relics. We then work our way out into the fields where the finds continue.
About Aquachigger:
I like to make videos that promote my lifestyle of outdoor adventure, metal detecting, yapping, searching for river treasure, SCUBA diving, exploring abandoned places, hiking, caving, caring for animals and pets, and observing the things outdoors that often go unnoticed. I keep my KZfaq "Aquachigger" channel family-friendly and hope you subscribe if you like my style.

Some more excellent civil war artifacts recovered Mr. Chiggs. I'm hoping to get out dirt fishing here tomorrow afternoon the snow has almost all melted away up here near Ottawa. I have not been out since October so tomorrow will be great to get out. Keep up the great work and happy hunting.

The logging tool is a cant hook. The sleeve thing with teeth goes on the bottom and the hook is attached a little more up the pole. A timber man couldn’t live without one.

That was another nice day you shared with Mike. Thanks for showing the 69 vs 59 caliber. Of course, you recently gave us a lesson on canister shot so knew exactly what you were referring to. I can be a slow learner, Beau, but you are a patient teacher. It was another adventure that I enjoyed and still couldn't believe how fast it was over! Please keep them coming!

I believe the name of the tool that the two pieces of iron found around the 4'30" mark came from, were part of a tool called a Peavy Cant Hook, which was used to turn over larger logs when cutting trees down. They were hinged and there wood have been a pretty stout wooden hanle.

Good afternoon in wet England, what a very interesting video how amazing that you had so many varieties of bullets, what I found interesting is when you had put the two lead bullets next to each other what a size difference from one to another ,I can't imagine what damage that would have done to a horse or a human, terrible even to think about what I did like chigg is when you were explaining about the acid from the leaves had made the lead go brown ,in general a very interesting video, thanks again, wear gloves 🧤 😮 stay safe

Funny how you can metal detect a place that's been hit insanely hard and still find something surprisingly. There was an area that was hit probably for 30 or 40 years. I had it for two years. Found a bunch of bullets and shelf fragments. But I must've went back five or so times and found nothing. Then out of nowhere one day, I found five or six Burnside bullets altogether in an area I must've hit a bunch of times lol

Hey you two happy February. I was thinking that metal detecting is good clean fun! It just a bit of dirt. The detectorist is an adventurous sole. Detectorist can learn about the past and that adds to the point of detecting. Lots of stuff to still be found. The thing anout detecting is ya never know what you will find. Its mostly junk but sometimes its treasure.a piece of history or some lost item you find for someone! Ive even used it for work. Isnt life fun? Best wish to you all and be safe.

I can't remember the proper name for the logging tool, but it was for rolling a log. The part you found Chig, is the end and the hook part would be the length of the hook up the wood handle. The whole thing would be about 5 feet long.

Your iron item is the end from a cant hook for rolling logs. And the hook end the other guy found is the rest of it. It probably had a 4' wooden handle in it.

why are the railroad spike driven in with the lip down. back in 1968 i sometimes would drive spikes into telephone poles i worked for southern bell. they had a lip on the rod and it kept your boots from slipping off the climbing peg .
