Thx.
@Landolini2 жыл бұрын
Servus, gib acht was du machst.

I’m looking at a trip to Switzerland but I’m looking to go solo. Is there any routes you’d recommend that aren’t too technical for solo climbing? Or maybe a couple of these ones can be done, thanks 👍

Hi, that totally depends on your skill sets and experience. The main problem when going solo will be crossing the galciers and how much you're willing to put on the line there. The Lagginhorn South Ridge has almost no crevasses and should be the best suited for solo climbing. The Weissmies North Ridge and Alphubel Rotgrat are way more demanding, but the descent routes should have big fat tracks, which make it somewhat acceptable to go solo. But don't underestimate the technicality of these routes. You are climbing UIAA grad IV in mountaineering boots! The Hörnli Ridge on the Matterhorn, which I did last year, also is a great solo outing if you don't mind the crowds. It is a bit more sustained, but technically way easier than the Weissmies or Alphubel and has zero glaciers or crevasses. Be safe out there and have fun!

@@Landolini I appreciate that, I’ve been wanting to do the Matterhorn and the Eiger which I will be paying for a guide. However for the rest of my visit I’d like to make the most of it with some low level solo stuff, nothing too technical. I’ve soloed a few climbs in the UK but nothing in comparison to over there 😂

@@MatSal97 Hiring a guide sounds like a reasonable thing to do. The Lagginhorn normal route is probably the easiest solo 4000er in the Alps without glaciers and only a short UIAA II step. Considering your experience I'll take back all the other recommendations from above, better start it slow in the big mountains.

@Landolini3 жыл бұрын
