The lack of service is pretty normal for trains in Asia. Japanese Shinkansen trains also don't have free food provided in Green (first) class, though there is a trolley service you can pay for. There is a 'super first class', called gran class on some of the longest distance trains in Japan, with an airline business style seat and with a small meal service (more of a snack tho tbh), but this KTX 1st is a similar service to Japanese green class

Preferred modes depend on your origin and destination, and a cost. In Seoul, Gimpo Airport is in west Seoul, Express Bus Terminal is in south Seoul, East Seoul Terminal is in east Seoul, Seoul Station is in central Seoul, and Suseo Station is in south-east Seoul. In Busan, Gimhae Airport is in west Busan, Nopo Bus Terminal is in north Busan, Haeundae Intercity Bus Stop is in east Busan, and Busan Station is in south Busan. In addition, a new KTX-Eum service will soon be launched in late 2024, which will connect Cheongnyangni Station (east Seoul) and Bujeon Station (central Busan) via Sinhaeundae Station (east Busan). Basically, where you start and end will mostly decide what you should use, but in terms of cost, intercity bus and Mugunghwa-ho (traditional long-distance train) are usually the cheapest options. High-speed trains are not very expensive but hard to get tickets because of higher demands. Planes are the least preferred option unless your point is in west Seoul, yet if it is possible to get heavily discounted tickets, it can be par with high-speed trains. Likewise, similar things happen when you drive on highway (expressway, technically) network as there are multiple routes. Tolls will be little cheaper than that of public transportation options, but gas prices are crazily expensive in South Korea; hence, driving your own car (if not taking other passengers) is the most expensive option, generally.

I love love LOVED the movie Train to Busan (same with Peninsula- definitely give that a watch too!), this could be a fun series ultimately about different routes from film/tv/books/etc. !

Flight within korea and Japan can be turbulent. Right now it is a monsoon season plus jetstream flow from central asia and mongolia etc does flow directly over the peninsular. Which makes it one of most turbulent region to fly in the world.

Maybe you should race: From Paris to Amsterdam: 3 hours and 22 minutes by train vs. 1 hour and 15 minutes flight. From Zurich to Milan: 3 hours and 17 minutes by train vs. 55 minute flight. From Milan to Rome: 3 hours and 5 minutes by train vs. 1 hour and 10 minutes flight. From Beijing to Shanghai: 4 hours and 24 minutes by train vs. 1 hour and 55 minutes flight.

lcc flights are much cheaper. The fare is similar to KTX or cheaper depending on the time of day. It is expensive because you take FSC.

You should try Copenhagen to Aarhus start either at Rådhuspladsen, Tivoli or Nyhavn and go to Aarhus and stop at Aros or something

You need to do an indian overnight sleeper train. Nicky as a torture in the overfilled sleeper train and the other guy flies first class airplane...

I like how they suggested that 1st class trains are nicer in Europe. I've been on plenty and that is pretty standard.

Transportation in Korea is a bit expensive.

Seoul airport (x) -> Gimpo airport (o) / Busan airport (x) -> Gimhae airport (o). FYI, the airport name Seoul airport is a military airport located in the southeastern adjacent city of Seoul.

There is no service in first ķclass trains across Asia this is the norm in Japan and china too and you have to book gran class in Japan and business class in china to get food service as these are the ultra expensive first class

Yep domestic Korean air travel is best suited for international conection out of Seoul otherwise for domestic travel the train is the way to go given the state is roughly the size of Indiana.
