EPIC SEA DUCK Hunt over Custom Painted Decoys!! (Scoter Limits)

After an uneventful evening scout, we were left with essentially zero options for the following morning; that is, until an idea the two had been sitting on and talking about was put into action! The plan was to take 2 dozen F1 Mallards and paint them into surf scoter decoys, hit the bay, and try our hand at some sea ducks. After a quick Walmart run and a couple hours of painting decoys, we felt confident we would be able to scrape a few the next morning. Shortly after the long lines of F1 Scoters were set, birds started screaming into the spread, and the crew knew they were in for a good time. After a day of electric decoying scoter action, heckling about missed shots, and all around great vibes, the boats headed back to the launch along with a 5-man limit of white wing and surf scoters. A great change of pace and one for the memory book!

Well done on a difficult hunt. Next time you try this just put up grey screens that hang down into the water and give you cover; then you can get closer and save some cartridges.

You guys need to come up to Alaska and hunt with Seak outfitters. You will see flocks of 20-30 at a time come into the decoys
