I’m so stoked for Dove Season here on PA I see tons everyday I live by a cork field and soybean, and also can set up by the Gravel road , so I’m set up I personally have like 3 spots for hunting, so I can get more doves 🕊

Good Evening Jordan . you love those Dove hunts. a few chuckles for us at the start. You shot them a lot better at a longer range - spot on! Your gun seems to be jamming a lot after the seracoating - was it a good thing? Benellis don't usually jam. No new recipes for dove , just pan fried in a fajita, you told us that Jordan!!! A tour round your farm would be good but we know that you are busy shooting doves :-) We found a goose feed tonight, a lot on the field. But two roe deer ran through and put them up and away! Not sure if they will come back, a possible hunt tomorrow night if they come up to the field. Malc and Ann (England) UK xxx ps shoot well and stay safe x

Try them shallow fried in olive oil & once done add lemon juice and turn off the heat. simple and tasty

I marinate my doves in buttermilk overnight then make them into jalapeño poppers. The buttermilk helps a lot with taming the gaminess

I like doves in crock pot. Make dressing with chicken stock and bury breast in it. It is done when meat comes off bone easy. Got a shot kam last year and love it. when the light is good you can go frame by frame and see the pattern.

Take a 1k grit stone to the places with ceracote on them near the receiver I had the same issue until it’s smoothed out

I'm fixin to dove hunt for the first time ever in my life this Saturday. I'll be going by myself and no idea what to expect really. Probably a bit easier with more people and especially with a dog but oh well. Should be fun!!

Jordan, have you found an automatic shotgun that will consistently eject a low brass shell? Most gun manufacturers say there guns will but if you shoot a high volume of shells through a gun each year ( say 1000 plus) as time goes on I have continuous problems. Gun is clean and the ports are open. My theory is that low brass shells are so cheaply made for cost reasons that they don't produce enough gas or pressure to push the bolt back. Yours or anybody's else's opinion would be great.

Improved cylinder and modified are the most popular chokes for doves. Carlsons cremator long range is more suited to the expert shooter with birds of this size. You will literally “cremate” them. Jeb’s High Voltage chokes are the best for long range birds (ducks, geese). Just a heads up, Jordan. Get a Jeb’s .680 non ported for the 12ga this duck season. You’ll slay them

Fry your dove like you would chicken in a cast iron skillet, remove dove and make gravy in the skillet, as a side some sour cream and chive homemade mashed potatoes, its damn good

Hi Jordan, with your gun, I was thinking about it sticking and I have had a similar experience with my 1187 and I found that it was getting a bit try so I give it a spay with WD40 which is a thin liquid oil.

Amazing! You took so many pigeons, It’s may be delicious food. I don’t like frying or roasting, usually I stew pigeon with spicy herbs or vegetable, similar to Asia people cooking; but tail part must be cut away, any kinds of birds, chicken, duck, goose whatever, its tail part is toxic; I know some people eat tail, it’s not good for health. Dove wrapped in bacon with a toothpick. One side of the toothpick put a piece of pineapple, just dole brand out of the can. The other side of the toothpick a piece of jalapeño. It's spicy and sweet, it's fire. Grill it up. 🤟🧨🔥

So i know the popper is kings but I know its a lot of work but forreal pluck a few batter and season them with your favorite and then deep fry them whole. Just saying that ranks way up there for me at least as one of my favorites. Good shoot bud I only got one dove today but did rock out 9 pigeo but I was to worried about getting a bunch of birds today was my dogs first hunt where he retrieved and im happy to say he got them all.

Cut the meat off the bone and keep the tenders separate. Apply a good coating of mustard then coat them with some breading. I use Zatarains seasoned fish fry Deep fry the larger pieces at 375 for 1 minute and 50 seconds. Do the tenders at the same temperature for 45 seconds You'll probably never wrap another dove with Bacon

Look for barren, dead trees and sit near them and wait. Also, ponds with few trees surrounded by fields are also a good place to look

Power lines. Doves really love to perch on them. Walk ditches. Scout the area you want to hunt. Look for empty shotgun hulls.

I had a friend that would make spaghetti sauce with dove meat I don't know the recipe,I do know that he would put the whole carcass of 3 or 4 dove in it and the meat would fall off the bone. That sauce and my grandmother squirrel gravy was the stuff or as my grandson would say (thats the boom). And what I used to do role tennis ball along tha ground and shoot them keep following it tell it slows down then shoot it again that will help with your follow-through now I did that with a pistol but same principal just a idea.

Would you guys be able to and you are editing the videos to say how far of a lead you have on the birds from what distance say if they're at 30 yards or leaving them by how many feet or in? It'll help some of the noobs and the older ones like me who go through 15 shots per bird if I'm lucky

Keep the breast bone in. Dredge in flour. Dunk in an egg wash. Dredge again in flour seasoned with salt and pepper (or whatever you prefer). Deep fry in butter flavored crisco. Drain the grease out of the pan. Add a bit of flour and make a roux. Slowly add milk or heavy cream and allow to thicken, but not turn into wallpaper paste. Bam, you have fried dove with country gravy. Something about leaving the bone in. I’m on par with you that the poppers are boring, although I do have recipes for those that are definitely against the grain.....

He was using a Carlson’s Cremator long range. It is not a choke well suited for dove hunting. Use the improved cylinder or modified that came with your shotgun. The extended long range chokes are better for shooting heavier birds like duck and goose. I hope this helps!

Robert Veracka Jr Yeah thank you. I kinda figured cause that is his go to. I’ve gone dove hunting one time this season and went through a box and a half of shells and only got 2 birds. I was thinking it was my choke since I was shooting a full but also the birds were flying high and fast so that might’ve been it. Thanks again.
