so many good finds! all those colours so beautiful! I immediately thought of something like a corsetted bodice for a ren fair style dress out of the leather! excited to see what you come up with!

So glad you found so many good things Claire! This was such a relaxing video to watch. I’ve also been feeling quite low energy this week, glad to know I’m not the only one. I love all the gorgeous yarn colors, and that red leather is amazing! I like the dress idea for the leather, like a ren fair style one maybe?

The Noro and the dark red leather are both excellent finds. Lately, I am knitting all the things with 40% alpaca/60% wool, very smooshy and warm. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who can't resist the urge to cuddle the yarn! 😄

That spice colour yarn is so pretty! I think you should make a coat with the leather, maybe bomber style with a crochet faux fur removable collar

@@WoodshedTheory Oh, no problem, there's nothing to forgive imo; please don't feel I was correcting you, or pointing out a mistake! If living with a non-native English speaker for 14 years (my partner) has taught me anything, it's that there's no 'right' way to pronounce anything and that language is as beautiful in its imperfection as a hand-dyed hank of yarn 😇 Announcing: Neuro Yarn, from Woodshed Theory! Oh my goodness, I wish I could go to your thrift store! I’ve never seen anything like those yarns and that leather at any thrift store I’ve been to. I really like all natural materials and know how expensive they can be, so these are amazing finds.

i do have a good thrift store that is always busy - the only issue is that it's hard to get good stuff cause it moves so fast

It’s not going to surprise anyone I think when I say definitely the leather and the Noro. I love some of the Noro names to Kureyon for instance which is simply yarn in crayon colors. That leather is a great score I pay 77 bucks for full hide(pelts) of leather like that. It would be interesting to do a cloak with one of those full hoods. A cloak is usually shorter than a cape so it doesn’t drag through the mud.

Wow! So much fun to watch. And love the red leather. I am thinking. Make boots and a matching handbag. ❤ Love the energi Claire. I am close to ready to launch one of my youtube channels about crafts. Just deciding on name and language (might do it mainly in norwegian). I also wanted to share. I justgot a big veving loom for FREE!!! And also raw alpakka fibers. Now preparing to spin my own yarn. Woke upon my birthday (13th Jan) to this happy video, started off my birthday with cup of tea in bed and watching Claire rub her face on wool! Lol! Just fabulous!! I agree with @natyork down below my first thought for the leather was like a ren-fair inspired dress, maybe not full renfair so it can be for everyday wear but something in the style of?

How many balls does it usually take to make a hat? Like that silk & alpaca, is that enough for a hat? Or would you make something else from it? Or mix it with something else? I don't know much about yarn... just curious. I've heard of Caron Simply Soft... I think my coworkers have used/talked about it (they crochet). I'm not going to the thrift store in a storm... on a Saturday... nope. 😅 Last time I went, though only things they had in their fabric and linen section were bed sheets. I did get some lace and trims from the wall... threw some of that out, but kept the nicer ones.

depends on the thickness of the yarn but usually one ball can make a hat.
