You might have heard of the Highlander Festival in Laya, but do you actually know how to travel to Laya and how the Highlands of Bhutan look like? We embarked on this crazy trip - totally unprepared but with a big hunger for adventure! If you visit Bhutan you have to put this on your Bhutan bucket list.
People called us crazy for going to a place most Bhutanese have never been. It was the best adventure of my life and I will go back for sure.

I hope you enjoyed your trip to Bhutan, especially at Laya. I had been serving there for almost 8 years and the community is still in my heart. You may visit during the Royal Highland Festival (October) where you can see different kinds of nomadic lifestyle. They would be coming there to celebrate from different places around Bhutan.

Dear Thinley, I’d love to visit the Royal Highland Festival one day. How wonderful, that you were able to spend so many years in this magical place on earth. What brought you there? I’m planning on going back soon, since I really felt so connected to the wonderful people in Bhutan. The strength and how rooted they are in their own culture is truly inspiring. Come to visit India 🇮🇳. India is a very huge and diverse country in the world 🌏 28 state + 8 union territory = India (36) 🇮🇳 And many more indian island like Andaman Nikobar, Lakhyadeep etc..🙏🙏

I’ve been to India 3 times already and I really enjoyed it! But I have to come back soon again and explore the country side more - what is the place I have to see for sure, and isn’t know by tourists as much? 😊
