Two of the best nights of the summer, highlighted by a beautiful alterna and milk both of which I was lucky enough to catch on my GoPro!

That New Mexico milk was pretty cool. You don't hear about these too often. Do you also find the more common Mexican Milk's in that area?

Here in Michigan pretty much every snake I find is a garter
@aquacrystal1122
@aquacrystal1122 3 жыл бұрын
That’s how it used to be for me in MA. Now, it’s a little more variable. Mostly garters, but the occasional nerodia, rarely racers, and rarely ringnecks are arriving in my book. Today, I got a garter and a ringneck in terms of snakes.

Same dude. I live in Ohio and almost every snake I come across is a garter snake. I’ve caught a couple brown snakes here and there and I finally found my 1st hognose, but it was dead in the road 😔

@Trevor Aston I’ve never found a Dekay’s. Only a dead one being eaten in my backyard by a bird

@aquacrystal 11... That sucks man. The garters get a little boring after a while and so me and my brother just focus on the frogs and turtles now

Isn't a Nightsnake a mildly venomous rear fanged colubrid or am I mistaken
@runningtarget0311

@@runningtarget0311 Right and I believe a Lyre snake is also a rear fanged slightly venomous snake from out west but I'm not exactly certain of the distribution of that species
@runningtarget0311
@runningtarget0311 3 жыл бұрын
Yes there is 2 different species in my state the Sonoran and the Californian lyre this if from that site i use for snakes in my state and the site as well it has maps for were they are in the state for the most part www.californiaherps.com/snakes/snakespics.html Mildly Venomous - but not considered dangerous to humans. Capable of delivering a mild venom from small fangs in the rear of the mouth, but the venom is not considered dangerous to humans. Handle this snake with caution, as some people have had unpleasant reactions to this snake's bite, especially when the snake is allowed to chew, which helps to put more venom into the skin. Symptoms can include local swelling, redness, itching, and numbness, but the the effects are not systemic.
