Rest In Peace to the greatest to ever do it. Someone might manage to match him but no one will ever surpass him. I live in Chicago and when I was a kid, it was always a treat when I would be able to find a Dodger game on tv so I could listen to this man’s golden pipes.

Scully knew the value of allowing the crowd and player's reactions to speak for themselves. Unlike modern announcers, who don't seem to know when to shut up, *cough ESPN *cough*

You didn’f play the best part of the Gibson and Aaron calls. “In a year that has been some improbable the impossible has happened.” And, “what a marvelous moment for Atlanta, what a marvelous moment for the state of Georgia, what a marvelous moment for the country and the world. For the first 56 years of my life, Vin Scully was the voice of the Dodgers. As a kid, I would go to Dodger Stadium with a transistor radio in hand so I could hear Vin describe what I was seeing with my own eyes. Vin’s words painted a better picture than anything I could ever see. Rest In Peace, Mr. Scully. You earned your place in heaven and in the presence of the Big Dodger In The Sky.

First time hearing Vin Scully that may surprise some but I can quickly catch on to the levels of respect and hard work this man attained in his lifetime. His voice is special, one of a kind and truly captivating but also humble, as he allows the crowd and players reaction to speak for themselves while also demanding you listen when you hear his voice.

@Star Scream You my friend are an idiot. If you think hockey is boring you probably lack the mental capacity to comprehend it. At any given moment of a hockey game there is a ton of stuff going on, and it all happens so fast. I hate when people say what you just said, because you literally have no idea what you are talking about. Hockey requires more of the viewers attention than any other major sport, and it's a great game. It's fast, it's violent, and incredibly complex. More people should attempt to understand it before they make such stupid comments about t hings they don't understand.

Long live Vin Scully the iconic broadcaster for the Los Angeles dodgers who passed away at 94 years old. I think this brings me back to the days when I was living in Southern California and I was listening to Vin Scully on the radio. And on TV just listening to his voice made me feel better. And the bottom line was that Vin Scully did the right thing. He did what everybody wanted to do. Just be himself. And now there is a street right in front of dodgers stadium as a matter of fact that street is where dodgers stadium six. So basically now you can basically find the dodgers at 1000 Vin Scully avenue.

One of my favorite Vinnie moments...a so so middle of the week game vs the Seattle Mariners...At some point he kept saying Marlins instead of Mariners. Finally he humbly said that he has been saying Marlins instead of Mariners and for the rest of the game they will be the Seattle Marlins...I about died...lol...It was simply a great time to have a sunday afternoon baseball game and Mr. Scully calling it. Loved it back in the 70s during one of the All Star games he called. Not sure which one but he said, referring to Al Dark and Catfish Hunter, when the manager took him out of the game, "So Dark figures that the Catfish is done, and he takes him off the griddle..." I still remember that nearly fifty years later. What a witty quip. Wish I could find it in one of these KZfaq uploads to watch the full game. 😕
