That isn’t entirely true. Sometimes a soldier can be brainwashed into hating his enemy, look at a German soldier in WW2. Sometimes his enemy has taken everything from him and he has nothing more to lose and hates his enemy eternally for that, look at a Soviet soldier in WW2. The Eastern Front of WW2 was total war, where each side gave no quarter and expected none from their enemy. It was a total war of annihilation where both sides used all means possible to annihilate their enemy at very high costs.

The sound of the metal resonated on the ground. His hand no longer had the strength to hold his sword, as he was keeping all the strength he had left to stand, in the middle of this field of ruin and desolation. He had ... succeeded? -I did it- He looked around him, stunned, all his enemies defeated, all his allies gone. No one to cheer victory with. There was only one man left, alone, weak, tired, in what used to be a flowery and peaceful meadow before. He had been fighting for so long, alone for so long, he didn’t even know what had happened to get to this point. A powerful chest pain pulled him out of his reflections. He looked at his chest, bloody, and the hole in his left flank that reminded him that he was still alive, at least for now. He looked up at the sky, smiling bitterly. "So this is the end... this is how it ends." The wind flew through his hair. "Will I be remembered?" - It was the thought that crossed his mind. A thought that terrified him, terrified of having died in vain, of not having been up to the task. Terrified of having died alone. "Who will remember me ...?" "I will remember!" replied a joyful voice behind him. He turned in haste, not believing what he had just heard, and saw her. Her long golden hair, her blue eyes like the sky that was waking up, her white dress that by its purity illuminated the battlefield. -She looks like an angel- "I’ll remember..." she said more calmly, smiling tenderly. "You..." he said as he approached her with his eyes wide open. His strength failed him and he began to fall forward unable to hold his weight. The girl rushed towards him and caught him tenderly, tightening his embrace around him. "I’m here... I’m here" The young man pressed her face against her shoulder, sobbing slightly. "You are here..." he said dumbfounded. "Always. I’ve always been there." "I did my best, you know." "I know what..." "I fought to the end..." "I know," she said, smiling, tears in her eyes. "I really tried but... I failed... everyone..." She moved him slightly away from her to look him straight in the eyes, her two hands on her cheeks. "You did not fail my love. You succeeded. You fought, you never gave up and you succeeded." "Liar!" he cried, startling the girl. "I didn’t protect anyone. My friends, my family, you... I couldn’t protect you... I couldn’t protect our dreams, I-" She threw herself in his arms. "It’s not your fault! It was never your fault! You did your best, I’m so proud of you... It must have been so hard" She wiped her tears and tried her little finger. "You know, we promised ourselves to life, to death, right... so we weren’t going to break the promise..." He stretched out his little finger to interlace it with hers. "You are a hero. You will be remembered as a hero, a man who fought for hope, as the man ..." she said, crying. The man I fell madly in love with..." The man smiles faintly, his forces beginning to abandon him. "Is it scary...? To die.?" "Oh you know, it’s not that bad. We get used to it," she laughs gently wiping her tears. "I’m scared, Lizzie..." "I know my love." "Will you be up there?" "Of course, I’m just waiting for you." The man leaned against a wall, collapsing from fatigue and pain. The girl stood up in front of him, glittering like a bright spectrum. Its light, which radiated at the dawn, merged with that of the sun. She vanished in a gentle breeze "I leave you the future, my friends," he thought, thinking of his brothers-in-arms. "I hope I was enough "Lizzie... wait for me... I’m coming..." His last breath warmed the air. A courageous man never dies alone, he is in the hearts of all those to whom he has given the strength to fight, the hope to win, and the rage to live and continue to fight to the end. He was not forgotten. He was remembered as the man who sacrificed himself for what he believed in, leaving this world with a soothing smile on his lips.

You're both wrong about your ending dark outlook of your lives! Your spirit will never die! Only if you have not known, or excepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior will your life end in darkness of your casket, but your spirit will continue to exist for eternity! If you find and accept the Christ, your spirit will live on forever with Him! Amen! 🙌

A true hero doesn't know they're the hero. A true villain knows they're the villain. The innocent thinks they are guilty. The guilty know they are guilty. The truth-tellers fear liars. Liars fear the truth-tellers. Fear fears respect. Respect fears nothing. Kindness is earned. But rudeness is free. The world may be evil. But hope remains. And if hope remains... Then life goes on. But once the spark goes out... It's out forever. So don't... Whatever you do... Don't let the spark die. Or we all go with it. Because when Pandora opened the box. Hope stayed. It is up to the good to keep it from those who seek to destroy it. And the good are spread thin... While the bad are all around us. The world may be dying. But we don't have to go out silently. We Can Go Down With A Bang.

"Who will remember me?" The question lingered in the young warrior's mind. He felt his life force only growing weaker as he looked at the pool of blood now forming around him. Suddenly a face appeared. It was that of a young girl smiling, then a family... HIS family. Then that of his friends. He saw his loved ones and smiled; a tear falls by his side. "I know who will remember me". Said the warrior. "Huh?" the evil warlock looked back in surprise. He laughed "WHO CARES WHO WILL REMEMBER YOU? YOU'RE GONNA DIE ANYWAYS!" The young warrior's mask fell as he stood up; the face of a young boy took its place. "The people who cared for me, protected me, guided and taught me... even loved me. THEY are the ones who will remember me." The young warrior readied his weapon. With a loud battle cry, the boy rushed forward. dodging blow after blow and landing his sword in the heart of the warlock. "HOW?!" The warlock screamed. In a fury of white light, The warlock vaporized as he screamed. As the dust settles, The warrior laid next to a stone. Watching the setting sun. He smiled, a tear rolling down his cheek. His body soon fell limp.

My 98-year-old great-grandma died early of this year before covid shut everything down and she used to have a stroller to help her walk and I went into her old office a few weeks after she died and I opened her office door and the stroller was right there facing towards the door just like if she was sitting there on it waiting for me to take her to the car just like we used to run errands. In the stillness of my mind, I recall the days gone by, The memories of those I loved, Who have passed but never die. Their laughter echoes in my heart, Their smiles forever bright, The moments we shared together, Still vivid in my sight. Though they may be gone from me, Their presence lingers on, And in the act of remembrance, Their spirit is reborn. So I hold them close in thought, And cherish what we shared, For though they may be absent, Their memory remains ensnared. In the depths of my remembrance, Their light will always shine, Guiding me through life's journey, Until we meet again in time.

She waited. Every single day she sat outside and waited for him to return home. For months she waited for his letter, she waited to hear a sign of his departure to come home. She waited for him, she waited through every storm and drought for him to return. She waited until a soldier arrived, holding a letter with her name. “My Love,” The letter proclaimed. “If you received this letter then I have fallen in battle for my country.” The wife broke out into a sob. “I know I promised many things, one being to return home into your arms. I left you to fend for yourself, left you to wait and see when I would return. My darling Sweetheart, wait no more. Though I stand beside the Almighty I will always and forever love you. Find love again, marry a suitable man, live on in my memory. Let me make this one promise before you finish reading,” She hugged the letter to her chest, still able to hear his voice that spoke to her through his parchment. “You have waited for me this entire time. Now, let me wait for you before you step forward to the path of His glory. I will wait however long it takes for you to fly to Heaven with the wings you already have. I will wait and watch over you for the rest of your living days. I will watch you fall in love, watch as you create beautiful children with the man you will marry. I will watch with joy to see you smile once more. My Love, I will wait.” Tears fell onto the inked letters. “I will love you forever and always Sweetheart. Remember our love and my memory. But, move forward and be the girl I first met that could always smile. Until next time, Your proud Husband” She waited. Now, he will wait. Until the day they will be reunited.

This is great. These are exactly my thoughts right now. I don't feel right being- basic? I want to be remembered, but not just by family and friends but... By others. Many others. I'm planning on actually starting a channel, if my parents allow me. I wont even earn money until a year later, but I'm happy I'm able to do it. Me and my cousin are gonna have KZfaq channels and stuff, mostly minecraft, but sometimes other games. I hope I can achieve this goal. I'm set on it.

Author: David Romano "If tomorrow starts without me, and I’m not here to see, If the sun should rise you find your eyes all filled with tears for me; I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today, While thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you And each time that you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too. But when tomorrow starts without me please try to understand, That an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand. He said my place was ready, in heaven far above And that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But as I turned and walked away a tear fell from my eye. For all my life I’d always thought, I didn’t want to die. I had so much to live for, so much left yet to do. It seemed almost impossible that I was leaving you. I thought of all the yesterdays the good ones and the bad. I thought of all the love we shared, and all the fun we had. If I could relive yesterday, just even for a while, I’d say goodbye and kiss you and maybe see you smile. But then I fully realized that this could never be, For emptiness and memories would take the place of me. When I thought of worldly things I might miss come tomorrow I thought of you and when I did my heart was filled with sorrow. When I walked through heavens gates I felt so much at home. God looked down and smiled at me from his great golden throne He said, “This is eternity and all I’ve promised you” Today your life on earth has passed but here life starts anew. I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last And since each day is the same there’s no longing for the past. You have been so faithful so trusting and so true. Though there were times you did some things you knew you shouldn’t do. You have been forgiven and now at last you’re free. So won’t you come and take my hand and share my life with me? So when tomorrow starts with out me don’t think we’re far apart, For every time you think of me, I’m right here in your heart. " Author: David Romano

Who shall remember me? A lone soldier dying in another man’s war. Another body lost to these green fields, another son that has gone off to his death. Who shall remember? My commander... he sees me as another pawn My comrades... they all lie before me, My friends... they grieve and move on, My love... she has much more to live for, My family! No... in time they will forget like all the rest... I must not allow myself to be forgotten! They shall remember... They shall bear witness... My enemy... My foe... Who knows how it feels to believe you will be forgot... They shall remember me... The one who wouldn’t surrender, beg or plead... But as the one who got up and fought on without fear... I should wish to die as honourably as those who have fallen this day before me... And I shall make it so. You can only hold out hope for so long though. At some point you have to cut your losses and admit that your peak has come and gone. Without the loved ones you hold dear in your life it becomes pointless. I do get what you're trying to say and what you're trying to do, it's a good thing. However some of us are too far gone. We are just waiting on our time to come. I'm really sorry if I'm just a downer. But you're young, the world has yet to beat you down to the point of losing faith in everything. My breaking point was at my sister's hospital bed where me and my family had to watch her take her last breath from a drunk driving accident. ( other driver was drunk) It's just the sad reality of life. In the end we'll all be waiting and wishing for death at some point for pain of loved ones gone.

As you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity - remember me. A man stands there looking over a crowd. He smiles and leaves with a nod. He knows that no one will ever know his name. He knows that the path he has taken is a long and lonely one. To protect from the shadows. To overlook society from afar. Never to be part of it again. A stranger to everyone for a lifetime. Those who do meet him ask, "Why do it? Why carry out such a burden? Why you?" His answer was always the same. "If not me, then who? You?" No man, woman nor child has ever answered without a long pause of silence. He smiles and walks away. Becoming only a distant memory in their heads. A man whose deeds will never be known. A hero that no one will ever remember - Clockmaster
