It definitely was. My father in law went there to study medicine. It was before 1947. A graduate from Calcutta Medical College was very much respected.

In k parks social and preventive medicine I recall all of the four studies are under analytical study. None was under descriptive study. Can you please explain that?

Thank you. Case control and cohort studies are clear cut analytical studies. Cross-sectional studies can be either descriptive or analytic. All these studies deal with individual level data. Correlational studies deal with group data and has the risk of ecological falacy. They are better for generating a hypothesis, than proving it at the individual level. Hope this helps.
