Why do demo videos always have to have so much slapping? How about playing MUSIC so we can hear the actual tones? Great playing, by the way.

Much of what he is playing is not slapping. He has his strings set low. There are many types of music where this is the objective. If you like to play with more bottom or more mud, then you don't need an expensive amplifier.

Slapping has nothing to do with playing bass. It’s an act, a cabaret trick. Ask Lee Sklar, a real bassplayer.
