EPILEPSY IN CHILDREN
Epilepsy is very common childhood neurological disorder. It is a chronic brain disorder where children have recurrent unprovoked seizured.
There are various types of pediatric epilepsies.
Identification, classification and etiological workup can change choice of medicine. EEG plays a important role for diagnosis and classifying epilepsy types.
Epilepsy medicines has to be taken for few years. Uncontrolled seizure can lead to regression of learnt milestones or stagnation of development. Uncontrolled seizure leads to poor school performance, behavioural issues, memory disturbance and sleep disturbances.
Right choice of medicines can control the seizures.
