This video is about picking up a special 1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. This Jeep has Vin #...001!
That means it is the very first of the last edition Jeep Grand Wagoneer's ever produced. The Jeep was not running when I bought it, and it took me approx. two years to buy the Jeep. Finally, I got the Jeep and over the course of the next few videos I welcome you to follow along as I figure out how to get the Jeep running, get it cleaned up and ultimately ready for an epic adventure... but you will have to watch to find out about the special trip this Jeep has in its future!

So cool, I have a 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer with vin# ending in 001. Mine is white too, tan interior. It was my fathers. I inherited it when he passed away from brain cancer a few years ago. He had it restored and had a fuel injection system installed. It’s in mint condition with less than a 100k miles on it.

I picked up an 87 SJ from Ebay in Colorado shipped to NY. Jeep was in similar condition. I spent a lot of time getting her “restored” and not it looks great. That 360 runs beautiful and I get tons of thumbs up from people as I drive it around.

So cool to see. I'm a Raleigh guy too and a restoration like this is on the bucket list--at least I think it is! I've been fascinated with Wagoneers since I was a kid, but truth be told I don't think I've ever even ridden in one.

Thanks Dean. It has been a journey and test of both my amateur mechanic skills and videography too. Hopefully each episode will get a little better. Practice makes perfect, right? At this stage I will be happy with good enough.

Hey, Fellow NC guy here, with an '89 GW. Rear door pull came off again and I found your web article where you used finishing cup washers in the handle itself. Door your remember offhand what size you used?

So, do you still have this Wagoneer now Kern? I don’t know how I haven’t found your channel before cause I search KZfaq for the past ten years probly weekly for Wagoneer content and you finally popped up today. Well, better late than never I guess, but thathats the story of my life it seems, lol. I’ve got a 91 also, and an 87, and an 85, and yes, I have a problem! My name is Don and I’m a jeepaholic!! I had a 77 CJ7 I sold last year also and I miss it dearly cause it was my summertime daily driver. I’m also in NC probly just over an hour west of you. We used to live in Chapel Hill but wanted to get out of the high taxation of orange and Chatham counties so we bought a little old place in Alamance county on 20 acres and am about 30-40 min west of chapel hill now. My 91 is white/tan interior but at some point before I bought it, it had been repainted the white. It’s a factory light blue metallic from the factory and I’ve heard that it is a fairly rare color and very few came that color in 91 but I have not researched it enough yet to know just how many were actually light blue in 91. Anyways, I’m glad I found ya and I’ve gotta catch up on all your videos now. Take care and be safe out there!!

I have a series of episodes that will come out each week for the next few weeks. cleaning it up, getting it running, trying not to blow it up, etc. Then someone else is coming in to help accelerate the progress followed by a big finish that I can't talk about yet.

When you say VIN number you are saying Vehicle Identification Number Number.

Awesome! They just don't make vehicles like this anymore. The other day, I walked out of my office and it felt like every modern SUV looked exactly the same. This one is a little rough around the edges too, but we will get there. I plan to launch Episode #3 tomorrow night and we will try to get the Jeep started. I hope you can tune in. I’m gonna have to walk out and see which one I’ve got then!! I’ve got a 1991 also and had it at least ten years and absolutely love these vehicles and have three of em all together. An 85, an 87, and the best and favorite, and the first one I bought, the 91! I’ll come back in a bit and update this on what number I have. We need to get a 91 Jeep group going for those of us that have these remaining.
