“It won't show up in my financial statement today, but it will show up in my children's financial statement”. That's the most beautiful answer I have heard about for those looking for economic gains in regenerative agriculture.

the economic gains don't need to show up that late. there are gains that are not translatable to money but that is our society, even peace of mind has pecuniary measure...blessings to all

Great conversion, John and Will. I enjoy listening to the visionaries. I think Will's video of his soil and neighbor's water runoff should be posted so that everyone can see it. I do think we need more soil education for all agriculturalists and consumers. I don't think the average farmer or person realizes how poor our soils currently are. Thank you for your work.

Loved the introspecting capacity of Will and the courage to set himself on a challenging, unknown, financially-adverse self-correcting path because he knew it was the right one. His attitude and humility are admirable. I am grateful he shared his experience with us.

I really enjoyed listening to this conversation and will use it in discussion with a neighbouring farmer to encourage him to use methods that help build water retentive soil in a catchment that regularly floods, 6" of rainfall here in UK today in a few hours. I squirmed with horror and rolled with mirth at Will's description of the "kill" mentality versus the "let live - it has a place" mentality. When I use Google to look up a small insect I wish to identify and understand its role, invariably the top 10 results are USA websites telling me how to 'kill" the creature. So good to hear Will's stable and long-term view for the benefit of successors.

I'm a 64 yr old UK farmer currently working my way through our family inter generational change. There can be powerful interpersonal forces at play during these periods of change. So much of what Will says chimes with my current view of farming particularly the problems that modern agriculture and food production is causing for the environment and human health. There are billions of organisms beneath our feet and their activity is pivotal to all terrestrial biological life on this planet. By doing what we've been doing, we are causing a catastrophic decline in biodiversity. This is dangerous for us and is unsustainable- we're biology too and we depend on healthy biodiversity. Now that we are coming to realize just whats been happening, we must for the sake of our health, the future of our families, communities and our species change our ways. Farmers can do this in partnership with consumers

I am about to kick off a small local (neighborhood) CSA type of business, heirloom lettuce, heirloom tomatoes, Green Beans, Papayas, only four items i have a tiny yard 20ft by 18ft so im going verticle. Plan = starting with 2 people and see if i can make it happen. no chemicals, non-gmo, no pesticides or herbicides. etc. and I will label my Produce as NON-USDA Organic and be proud of it! I feel like labeling it like that will turn heads and give me an opportunity to educate my 2 members or any one that asks. On the USDA BS and wont lower my standards to their level.

Another excellent conversation! I love the part about that economics where we pay rent on land if we don't foster it correctly. And if we do foster it correctly, the land is ours to use because we're improving it. You know how rich I'd be if I worked in that model?

John, when are you going to get on The Joe Rogan experience? If you could get on there you could change the world!

Admittedly true but disappointing that a visionary like John Kempf would have to go on a half drunk half stoned ape's podcast to get mass traction.

Along with Malcolm Bindel Bob Lozar and other frauds. Yeah maybe Atlantis is Ohio after all. Alot of the nonsense John Kempf spews seems to come from potheads. He seems to think the sap analysis of a 25 ft tall heavy metal hyper accumulator must translate to food production. More prayers to the microbe gods will do it but it'll cost this time. We gotta measure our prayers, don't guess.

It’s a very sad statement about humans where the madison ave. locusts are always looking around, trying to spy something/anything that they can glom onto and add a trend that they can capitalize on. The bright side and silver lining of trends is that the locusts start pushing to where it catches and becomes popular enough to garner attention by those who are also looking, but for them it’s for anything that they can be seen as groovy about. It’s usually only as far as using that groovy term/word, not one iota about the actual definition of and everything involved in the whole system, complete and how to make that a full reality. Thankfully, because locusts and the like, have no, up to a very short attention span. Shortly after becoming groovy to the other locusts, everyone begins to get bored with the trend and move on, looking for a new thrill and something to capitalize on next. The brightest aspect of the silver lining is that for every bunch of trend following locusts, there are some people who got involved because of something deeper than the term/word that caught their hearts, minds and spirits, who stay, learn and devote themselves fully, in truly whole system, ready to do anything needed and they pass the reality along, making the world a better place, in part because of their devotion. Like true regenerative life. A parallel is something that my people ( First Nations, Abenaki ) first really dramatically saw develop in the 1970’s, fade out of general popularity, except for the few who were there, doing the right thing, for the right reasons. It again returned in the early 1990’s new agey trendiness and once again as most of the locusts moved on to something else, many devoted, real and dead serious folks stayed. Learning, growing and becoming a true and highly valued part of the growing, loving and real, True ( note: I rarely use the word True or any of its variations or synonyms for anything, considering true, truth, truly etc. to hold a sacredness that most everything falls far short of. Hence it remains a mostly unused word in my vocabulary. Those who those do apply to, are the tiniest, few who I hold in honor above nearly everyone.) A few years back, it began once more, the pattern is following along just as it has every other time. Happily, there’s a difference, this time around. There’s an overall difference and sense of both foreboding and also a sense of the recognition of larger, more impending events and happenings, that are being seen, felt and generally noticed. This time it’s not the locusts and sharks but those who have the spark and in the past caught the deeper meaning and message that the other people never caught on to. This time what is being seen, felt as strongly as now and has is sensed as being on the way for real change. Granted, the stakes are around as high as it can be. Even if everything doesn’t pan out like imagined, our Mother can simply shake everything off like a bad case of fleas or the like and She can start everything as beautifully and with the perfection of design that She has made everything before. Being a simple man and just a simple human, I really have no idea what or how Her process will work. It may not and doesn’t have to, include me, or any human or current life form, for that matter. I would love to get to be a part of, or at least my two daughters, my 7 granddaughters and my great granddaughter, having the chance to experience the closer to perfection than ever before. We can, working in True, honest, loving Community and open, full enthusiastic desire for us with our complete, 100% absolutely willing, No Matter What, population of the people that can best understand and work towards a planet in Harmony with the design of our Mother. Then, there need never be another passing fancy, since we all can simply follow “The Way”, knowing, understanding practicing in our every action and thought, how our Mother has intended and what to do. It could be far easier than I tried to explain it.
