To answer your calculated shipping question, they charge retail and give sellers the shipping discount that they have worked out with USPS due to all the mail they send their way. But you can choose to give that discount to the buyers by setting it up in preferences. In fact, eBay was even encouraging sellers who use calculated shipping to make that change and pass the savings onto the buyer, although it’s still up to the seller if they wish to or not.

I ship from California, and I use calculated shipping. ebay has never overcharge the shipping. The most I have ever received is approximately $2 over the actual cost of shipping, and I weigh and measure my items before listing the item.

As a Registered Dietitian I am a fan of intermittent fasting. Its application is easy to follow and apply. Nothing necessarily special about it but it helps to control food intake and helps to reduce snacking. I’ve seen more success with intermittent fasting than any particular “diets” out there. Great podcast guys.

Dave UPS has not increased prices, they have actually lowered prices to compete with USPS ground. I think you are seeing more expensive shipping because when you do free shipping a lot will go to California and out west. Its only around $7 to ship golf club within a couple zones. Set them to Calculated and they will usually go more locally, or pass on the discount or a good % of it, and you will get sales all over the country but more will be close because of how cheap the shipping will be for them.

Dave... you should just buy the solar components outright then hire someone to install it. You can even do it as a DIY, film it and use it to start another channel. Check out the traffic those channels garner. Thinking of doing it myself.

For Ebay calculated you can choose either retail rate or discounted rate to be calculated and charged to buyer. If you have the dimensions and weight in accurately the calculations are accurate. If your dimensions and weight are not accurate the calculated shipping will be over or under.

I change my mind on offers everyday I think. I had an offer on some shoes for $22. I had them listed for $29.99, paid $5 I should probably have just taken but I decided to counter $25. Thank goodness they took but I do lose sales by trying to squeeze a few extra dollars.

eBay, as far as I know, calculates the retail price of the weight and dimensions you enter to provide to the customer, but the price you pay includes a heavy discount, and that discount can vary from item to item. I believe you can set it to the price you pay with discount.

Oh yeah I've heard every story while negotiating prices. Who knows if it's real or not. A couple months ago I was at the flea market and this person told me they're moving out of town in a week and they're trying to sell the last bit of stuff they have to raise the money to help with expenses. I go to the flea at least 3 days a week and they've been there every time I'm there since I bought from them and I bought more stuff from them with no story.
