I just transferred from the podcast and saw you guys for the first time. My impression in light of the playful dynamic is Father Kirk and Father Spock. This episode has been a mini recreation for me, thank you. Boat long and prosper dear fathers.

God love you both. Sailing or boating or water skiing or jet skiing or even swimming requires a degree of skill to be in and with the water…all the while being aware that the water can always have control.

I dont think its a matter of preferring work to leisure but the answer is probably a lot more nuanced than that: 1) the expectation that the work needs to get done so you dont have time. 2) while your on vacation you end up getting behind 3) some people might like their jobs so much that they dont want to take vacation 4) fear of getting behind and losing your job. 5) the boss doesnt take vacation so you feel like you shouldn't. 6) people might be trying to get a raise or bonus and so are going above and beyond... just a few things that might contribute to the reason why people are leaving vacation on the books. That could be a whole episode in and of itself.

Hahaha! Fr. Bonaventure is agonizing over Fr. Patrick's sentimentality, but it's funny how he expresses it. Oh deep thoughts by Fr. Bonaventure. I love the feeling of being near water, for me especially small to medium lakes. So calm and restful! I thank God for the lakes! For me, the ocean is not restful but stirring. But Water is essential for us in so many ways, how can we not feel connected to it? Thank you for this episode.

So Fr Bonaventure hasn't been on Chesapeake Bay in a sail boat when the wind dies and all those jellyfish floating about. That's when you need a motor instead of a couple of oars.

Only 6 or 7 in the house of buddies keeping the boiler running in the summer? Off key cantors? Evidently Fr Bonaventure hasn't walked where there is quick sand or in deep snow. Really trust in God there.
