I attended the first launch of Fully Charged Live in Canada, at their event in Vancouver, Canada earlier this month.
In this video, I provide a quick overview on the event along with First Looks of 3 new upcoming BEVs:
- 2024 Hyundai Kona EV (All-New)
- 2024 BMW i5 M60 xDrive
- 2024 Polestar 3 SUV

Thank you Ken . It's nice you were able to get a close look at the new cars that are coming soon. Too bad Fully Charged doesn't publish the panel discussions like they did in the early shows.

Thanks Ken, it was good to see you out here on the west coast. Hyundai Kona with its one pedal capability and smart parking looks good. It will be interesting to see Fully Charge transition to Everything Electric over the next few years and everything that will bring to the show.

Thanks Doug, good to be at the show and on the west coast! I always love going to BC! Yes Kona keeps getting better and the South Koreans implementation of 1-pedal functions has always been very good, so expect this and new stuff to get even better. I think the EE focus from FCL is the right thing, as it is not just about EVs anymore. However, they do make up the biggest component of consumer emitted GHG emissions so we cannot stop pushing those, but there are also other areas that consumers can control that also directly impact carbon outlays.

Nice to see your coverage of the launch of the 2024 Kona EV as well obviously no pricing as of yet but got specs more than Australia has yet. The Polestar 3 is also amazing looking but yes the price is the killer. At least here in Australia we have BYD which have got some great cars and at affordable prices and they all use their blade battery tech which is all LFP as well. Next month is understood we will have full specs of the latest vehicle they are launching here the BYD Seal Sedan which is a Model 3 competitor but at least to me it looks far more luxurious.

Thanks for watching and yes, BYD is killing it out there and they are poised to be #1 in Plug In Globally. We will see how the Kona EV pricing comes out, I hope it is relatively in line with the previous gen.

On September 20,2023 i’ve purchased my second leaf a 2020 Nissan leaf 18,000 miles I still have a 2014 Nissan leave it’s 120,000 miles.

Polestar efficiency is the biggest disappointment. That is driving up the price, big battery

Polestar 2 refresh should appeal to buyers who don't like the Model 3 refresh because of the lack of stalks and the added advantage of more practicality of the Polestar 2 being a hatchback. The new RWD Polestar 2 single motor’s has 320-mile EPA range and faster charging speed. Other upgrades include an increase of 69 horsepower (299 total) and 118 extra lb-ft of torque (361 lb-ft in all). Additionally, the 440V platform can charge as high as 220 kW, charging 10-80% in 25-28 mins - a 20% speed increase, according to Polestar. Bjørn Nyland youtube video titled “Polestar 2 LR SM refresh charging test” shows the refresh 2024 Polestar 2 has much better charging speed - better than Tesla and iD4.
