Imagine trying so hard to please and respect your family because you love them but them not loving you or respecting you enough to try to accept you and understand you! I’ve cut off my whole entire family and it’s been such a hard and painful journey but I’ve been the happiest person since I’ve done that! As a momma I wish I could tell him he’s perfect the way he is ! 🖤 lots of love sent to him !!! 🖤🖤

jesus is such a great speaker and story teller and it irked me so much how jenika was ruining his flow she didn’t make any good commentary and asked the most unnecessary questions LET HIM SPEAK like she’s great but she can be a way better podcaster! bc it ain’t even his podcast and he carried. she relies too much on her guests for views and content. I hope she takes this criticism well and starts taking notes on her episodes on how to keep a good conversation flowing! I know she’s new to this so I’m cheering her on for better episodes

I know exactly what he’s talking about. Coming from a Mexican family from Michoacan it’s not ok to express love or feelings. But “I” broke the cycle! “I” taught my parents how to say I love u to my children. We need to break these cycles! ❤

This episode really made me realize that all Mexican families do really struggle showing love and being affectionate and it does affect the opposite side a lot especially like la comadre said it’s hard when you want the love or acceptance from them. 🥲

tbh it’s not all mexican families. my bfs family is so loving and shows affection left and right but my family doesn’t show affection at all. some families actually learned how to break the cycle 🥺

Ps tell your next partner they’re dating you not your family so their approval shouldn’t affect your relationship. If their family is supportive that’s a blessing but not everyone has that and it can’t be forced you can simply just do you

😭😭😭 I loved this episode! I could definitely relate to treating family different then how you were raised because you want different and coming off as the odd one. I accepted the fact that I am different and I’m The Who’s breaking the cycle. My family had to over come being able to say I love you and it’s a blessing to have made a positive change. My children tell my parents I love you because that’s what I’ve poured into them and my parents are able to say and show love comfortably now 💕

So hard to come out as gay in a Mexican traditional family. I completely understand. My sister had to tell my mom for me and she respects me but doesn’t approve of me and I’m already 33. I came out at 16. And my dad passed without me ever telling him because he was homophobic

Thank you for this video. I’m going through what comadre did and I feel so isolated from my parents. I only have my friends and I love them everyday for helping me through everyday. It’s so sad to know that so many people have gone and are still going through this and I hope one day I’ll find my strength to move on.

I feel like in Mexican culture it’s very normal for love to be shown in other ways aside from verbal affirmations & it’s very difficult for most people and especially those who’s love language is ‘words of affirmation.’ Although I don’t agree with it I can understand it
