Episode 47: The Ultimate Potato Chip Quilt “Free Block Pattern” ❣️

To create this stash buster pattern, each block uses 20 Potato Chip rectangles thrown in with scrappy half square triangles and squares. I promise this is easier than it looks. Multiple blocks create a large quilt, customize for your own unique size.

I am cutting vast amounts of yardage, accumulated over years into scrap pieces, it’s only taken 35 years to conclude I like scrap quilts best of all. Fully half of what I am cutting are potato chip rectangles, (from now until forever) finished 8 quilts so far all big, never get tired of the block, now I have a new layout(my eyes are sparkling) Thank you so much for the new take on a great block

Wow that is quite the collection, I am a tad bit jealous. I am collecting more in the same color way to add another row before finishing. Scrap quilting is my favourite!

Hi Debee! This is a really neat pattern! I have a lot of potato chip rectangles this size and 2 by 3.5. Brenda got me started on the original block. This sure would use up some of the 2.5 by 4.4. .Lovely fabric! Take care. Marion in Oregon.

This has been easy to draw on graft paper. it looks like it will be fun to sew. However, it may take a while to choose the fabrics and cut. It doesn't look like a Potato Chip quilt block; but it is with some squares and half square triangles added.

This block is an optical illusion and is rectangle in shape so no corner offsets. Each block goes together quickly and is joined without any y seams.

@@Sewwithdebee It will be fun to see the different ways this block can be used. I am new to your channel, so I am very much looking forward to checking out your other potato chip block ideas. I have the imagination of a gnat, so I greatly appreciate those who can "see" what I have never considered before. INPUT! That is what you do ... helps us break out of our little boxes ... and teach very directly ... that is always a good PLUS!
