Check out Functional Storage, Sophisticated Storage, and Sophisticated Backpacks. Functional Storage is a replacement for Storage Drawers. You can craft drawers that hold a lot of items, but just like Storage Drawers it's only 1 item per drawer (2 for a 1x2 drawer and 4 for a 2x2 drawer). However, unlike Storage Drawers, they do not need to be touching the Controller to be connected, you connect them with a Linking Tool, I believe up to 8 blocks away but there is an extender you can use as well. It also has Ender Drawers, which are drawers that share an inventory, and you can link them up together, as well as Fluid Drawers for fluid storage. And there's Compacting Drawers, which hold an item as well as the compacted and uncompacted version, such as an ingot, a block of that metal, and the nuggets, all with shared quantities, and a Simple Compacting Drawer, which does the same but only two levels, such as Diamonds and Diamond Blocks. Link your drawers to a controller and you can access them all with a single External Storage. It also has an Armory Cabinet, which holds a ton of items that do not stack, namely tools, weapons, and armour. It does not connect to the controller and needs something else to access it, such as an External Storage. Very useful for all of the Apotheosis gear or things that don't stack dropped by mobs, or even just your own tools when you have the wireless grid setup, to keep your inventory clear and not have to worry about a chest for various armor and tool sets. Just be warned that it is prone to errors if too full, thanks to Apotheosis and enchantments, but that's only an issue if you set up a powerful mob farm, and even then more of an issue with the spawners from those roguelike dungeons. The best use, aside from saving materials for Disks, is with a Mekanism Ethylene setup. A botany pot growing Melons produces the block, feed it into a Simple Compacting Drawer to have it break those down into 9 slices, and you can use a Push Upgrade to automatically feed those slices into a Crusher to start the Ethylene process. Sophisticated Storage is an improvement on Iron Chests or Metal Chests. Various tiers of chests, barrels, and even shulker boxes, keeping the various wood types and colours. They also have upgrade slots, with the upgrades being things like a filter upgrade to only allow certain items in, a void upgrade to void certain items or void if the item would start another stack, stack upgrades allowing one slot to hold multiple stacks of the same item, a feeding upgrade to autofeed nearby players. The best part? Much like Functional Storage, this too has a Controller, which you can link any of the chests, barrels, shulker boxes, or even backpacks (explained below) to, letting you once again access all of them with a single External Storage. Great for when you have a larger variety of items you want smaller amounts of, and customizable as needed. Finally, Sophisticated Backpacks. The simplest one, it's a Backpack mod. Some leather, string, and a chest to make the basic one, upgrade the size with iron, gold, diamonds, and Netherite in that order. Very much like Sophisticated Storage in that there's upgrade slots for things like making it autofeed you, stack upgrades, making it pickup items for you, a magnet (with a filter), even options to lose some item storage for a tank for fluid storage or a battery for RF storage (less useful once you get into Flux Networks), a tool swapper, hotbar filling (never run out of Cobblestone). It has its own Curio slot, so no need to take up space in your inventory or armor, but you can also carry additional ones in your inventory. And they can be placed in the world for decoration or to connect to your Refined Storage system, or even the Sophisticated Storage controller. Great for when you get back from an adventure, it can automatically dump what you found, keep what you always bring along, and restock itself with food or building blocks. All of these are amazing for easily and cheaply expanding your RS system and making it easier when you go out for materials. I feel like an advert for these mods but I honestly just really like them, they are too convenient for me...
