Dr. Purushottam Lochan Shrestha is a Professor, a Researcher, and one of the most Intellectual person on Bhaktapur's History and Archaeology. He has a Ph.D. in the Era of Tantric Power in Bhaktapur. He has served as a Professor and Head of the Department of History, Anthropology & Sociology at Tribhuvan University. He also has received several awards including the prestigious Mahendra Bhusan Class A. In this podcast, Dr.Purushottam and Sushant talk about Bhaktapur, Ancient Nepali Civilizations, Tantric Power, Human Sacrifice, Arts, Monuments, Ancient Rulers and much more.

Amazing podcast! Dr. Purushottam is really doing this out of pure love towards the culture and history vanera tha payencha. Last ma him asking harmonica bata sakayedium and playing was 🤌 Sushant g le chai ali cross questions like “ yo vaneko k ho?” Vanera sodhi diye ajhaa shrota lai bujhna sajilo hunthyo. And the guests might not know the answer too which is fine. At least simple terminologies clear hunthyo rather than having to just let it pass over the head. P.s thanks for providing him the platform. Gonna find his book aba. Hus ta. 🙏

We Newars still call " Khopah" to Bhaktapur/Bhatgaon. We need to go behind Saskrit language to Prakrit language in order to understand the history of Nepal valley/Nepal Mandal. Prakrit/Pali language is mother of Saskrit language. For instance Dhamma to Dharma etc. The rulers NEVER feel ownness/belongingness to Nepal Valley and its history because its history goes behind Sanskrit language, Bedhas and Purans.

My grandfather used to say we Hadas came from Rajasthan India. If you search you can still find Hada caste in Rajasthan. I'm from Bhaktapur and I loved this brief history thank you for bringing this out.
