In my opinion, epithet erased is one of those things in media, which works better because of the limitations put in place, allowing there to be better and more creative ideas. Mixed with Jello’s great writing and comedy, Epithet erased is able to pull off these ideas and work from the constraints by crafting a intriguing world with amazing characters, which makes you relate to it just because of its simplicity and you can tell with each frame and movement of the characters that love was poured into it

It took me about an episode before the writing and voice acting overtook the animation in my brain. A point came where the stilted cutouts kind of disappeared and became part Manga, part gaming campaign, both of which were comfortable and easily digested. Honestly, the art style is beautiful but the real stars are the voice actors. Hell, I thought the voice work and direction bested many big studio shows.

Alright, I almost NEVER watch analysis videos because... er... people don't know how to write scripts. But I gave this one a chance, and the video editing at 2:34 convinced me to watch all the way through (very much appreciated syncing Giovanni's smacks to the beat)! It's nice to see good visual editing and music underlay on a video like this, especially considering its length. The biggest advice I'd give (if you care to hear it) is to work on the narration and mic. There are places where the narrator audibly slurs or even pops consonants- and I'm not usually super attentive to that kind of stuff, so it's quite noticeable. The mic itself isn't as easy to fix, because obviously super high-quality ones are expensive, but it's definitely jarring when you cut from your own narration to the show (such as at 10:57). Anything you can do to reduce background noise would help. Finally, while the script is great, there are a few minor nitpicky things (grammatical errors, run-ons, etc.) that could possibly be fixed with an editor. I don't know if you have a second pair of eyes for your scripts yet, but if not, it wouldn't be bad to get one! Sorry for the essay-length comment; I appreciated this content to fill the EE-shaped hole in my heart :)

Thank you so much for the feedback! I'm very happy to hear the montage hooked you as I always have a blast making those! I definitely do need to get a new mic but I will see in the meantime if any tricks can help further improve the audio quality! As for narration I'll try to improve on that in the future though I honestly don't have the best eye for narration but I'll do my best. I usually just try to go for a more natural flow with it. Also I do have people to look over the scripts though this one sadly just didn't have the time to get that though look over. Due to needing to make it quick in time for the kickstarter. But still thank you for the kind words and useful feedback! I always love essay-length comments like this so thank you so much and I'm glad you enjoyed it so much!

i love the less animated look, cause it doesn't really make me feel obligated to go and watch the actual screen and you can more just listen to it in the bg while popping in once n a while. Especially since I can't really watch it at the same time as drawing unless it were on my phone, so I like that you can kinda just listen along while popping in once n awhile

I got into Epithet Erased shortly after the first episode was uploaded to youtube, I was subbed to Jello for other reasons so it was recommended to me when it was new, I had time so figured I'd take a look & fell in love immediately. When the second episode came out, I was too excited & just couldn't hold it in so this small group I'm in on Discord, I told them about it because we're all fans of animation, RPs, & I know a few people in there likes to support independent creators so I figured this was right up their alley & I needed someone to talk to about this. One of them has a large pile of videos she watches & tends to put things in order depending on mood & how long she's been putting it off so I didn't expect her to get to it so soon but surprisingly, she did. All of us loved it & one even watched ahead on VRV so in order to not get spoiled, I did so as well. We'd wait until everyone had seen the latest episode & talk about it as soon as possible with each other, was a fun time. The accidental spoiler spilled from the person who saw ahead on VRV caused the rule to wait for the youtube release. This is a series I quickly recommend to anyone looking to watch something new or something I'll throw on when I have guests over & need a time filler. One time in particular was when only the museum arc was out on youtube by that point & I had a friend over, we were just hanging out & I decided to throw what was out of Epithet Erased on the TV & she absolutely loved it. She's a fan of art & supporting smaller creators & has a close friend who feels the same so she decided to watch it again with that friend. It's one of those things where if you can get past the animation & acknowledge that they did what they could with what they had, you can very much find joy in it & she did agree with me that this form of stilted animation actually worked well with the series like it's something that's hard to pull off but they managed it & as beautiful as it looks animated, I'm happy with what the style ended up being in the end, it gives the little bits of animation more power & those scenes stick with you much more. On the topic of it being quotable, um if there was a drinking game for how many times my GM & I shouted "BARRIER!" Just don't, you'd be plastered. I'm unsure if you can call it a mistake but I did indeed show this to my GM. We have this thing we do, we've known each other ever since 2013, I introduced him to his current wife, it's a whole thing so it's not unusual for us to do stuff outside of games. Anyways, about every other week, we meet to watch series each other has brought to the table like he did Demon Slayer & I did Squid Game when we first started but he was super into Squid Game so we quickly got through that & I needed another show so I went with Epithet Erased & at first, he was weirded out by it. I actually tried to get him watching it much sooner like around late 2019-ish because I was hanging out at his place & he mentioned he had a game the next day & he was excited about it, it was supposed to be a museum heist & I'm like, you really should watch Epithet Erased before running that, you'll see why so I showed him the opening song & he just wasn't interested so fast forward to a few years later & we watch it together, by the second episode, he was hooked. In the current game we're doing, it's a modern day fantasy & everyone in it are cops, actually there's a lawful good character in the party who handcuffed my character's wrist to his because mine did break the law (long story) & he was going to take him in for questioning but we had to deal with combat, these guys wanted my character dead so my mind kept flashing back to Perci & Ramsey through the whole thing. Trying my best to stay on topic, my character like part way through the game had a run in with a goddess & long story short, became an acolyte which like wasn't at all what I had in mind, we were told our characters were on vacation & we got to do whatever & I told him I wanted an Indiana Jones style adventure for some cool ancient weapon since everyone in the party had a signature weapon & mine just used his police gear so yeah, he somehow equated it to what it ended up being. Already, I did heavily do a lot of support so now with using divine, the whole thing of putting up shields became commonplace so whenever I rolled to use a shield, I'd shout "BARRIER!" Then the GM & I would laugh & go "My name is Periwinkle Puppypaws & my epithet is BARRIER!" He's a gnome by the way. The rest of the party would be confused & one of them did catch on, at one point she said "yeah, I know, I really should watch Epithet Erased." Oh yeah, I also tend to slip in a lot of Epithet Erased gifs into chat, I started doing that long before my GM saw Epithet Erased like when there was a bar fight & characters drew shotguns from who knows where, I shared a gif of the cat with the gun & one of my favorites, my character usually tries to charm to get what he wants but during a point, he was super low emotionally, he was grilled by a party member for all the mistakes & whatnot he's made so he was upset & they were in a literal ghost town, the ghosts were serving seawater at the bar which like he couldn't even try to get drunk so he was even more upset & some guys start stirring up some trouble which he had zero patience for & pushed in to try & threaten them which like is something he never does like I don't think I ever had to try & make a coercion roll before because it's just not his style but he had enough with everything going on & seeing these people being rude to everyone pushed him over the edge. Of course, it didn't pan out because adorable little gnome. See where I'm going with this? Shared the Molly "rawr" in the chat because that's about how threatening he was. I'm unsure but I do believe by this point, we might of got the whole party to cave & watch Epithet Erased but I never asked so I don't know. They didn't say anything when I made like two barrier jokes in the last session. All in all, this series has brought in some fantastic memories for me & probably will continue to do so given I never get tired of showing it around. I also shared it with a friend I play the Pokemon TCG with, we were waiting for a mini con to start, we were like an hour early so while waiting for the doors to open, we watched some of the series & yeah, we played some Pokemon during the con, he had an annoying deck too with a GX move that heavily minimized damage taken to his Pokemon I think it was, it's been probably 3-ish years by this point so I don't fully recall his deck but I do remember him flipping his GX token & saying "My name is Indus Tarbella & my epithet is BARRIER!" & I was so ticked at him because I was playing a deck meant to stack up power & dish it out, I don't think I had a way to get around that.

I think prison of plastics audio book is honestly the most perfect form of the show. Yes you lose on the character art and everything that I loved of the first season, but the book truly unlocked what they managed to do in the first before, it was already almost like a book, and they mentioned in some things that they pulled back a bit on it as they continued further into the episodes. But prison of plastic utilizes it perfectly. And managed to keep the same music, and amazing voice cast. A cheaper epithet that makes the same warm and fuzzy feelings watching it did as well. I can't wait for book 3

At first I didn't really like it too much cause I didn't like the style that there wasn't animation but it was instead sprites. But I didn't mind it too much since I liked anime visual novel games which are basically the same thing, so I ended up getting used to it and it was entertaining. A decent way to explain this series to someone in a very simplified my would be to say something like "It's kind of like 'My Hero Academia' but with elements closer to that of Table-Top RPGs instead of Superhero Comic Books", at least That way it has a chance of getting skeptical people more interested in it.

It isn't the case for everyone of course, but there are a couple notable ones A kid like Molly is usually childish, innocent, naive But instead she's, well, mainly exhausted, jaded, and has gotten used to taking what life throws at her to a disturbing degree (Prison of Plastic really highlights how bad it's gotten and how close to the edge Molly is) Giovanni is expected to be the goofy bad guy leader who doesn't really care about anyone but his goals, but their followers like him anyways Instead, loving his minions is the main part of his character appreciating them for every little thing they do, and his minions love him even more for it Percy is, as mentioned, supposed to be the lawful straight man that's serious (and is usually pretty boring when seen in media) She still remains lawful, but has absolutely insane quirks that are all delivered with a straight face that makes it all the more hilarious, her reaction to the crayons and her ridiculous palette being the most notable ones (she adds butter to water, can somehow _milk_ pinecones, and eats a screw covered in honey) Ramsey is also expected to be a mastermind, the typical trope of the informant being the most knowledgeable, and therefore the most dangerous, usually the serious one and possibly the angsty one He instead has a good heart, and is sometimes the butt of the joke, but what really makes him such a favorite is his reactions to the world and especially Percy Ramsey will not hesitate to point out the ridiculousness that happens in this world, and the fact that no one else questions it makes it all the more hilarious Percy: Oh! Have you never before supped on pinèd cone? It's quite simple Percy: You just have to know the proper way to MILK, the cone Ramsey: NEVER SAY THOSE WORDS EVER AGAIN
