If you have lots of hearts lying around and you have peter you can get more heart containers, because moldy hearts have a small chance to give you a heart container when you pick them up, and it's impossible to lose hearts or shields when you have no empty hearts.

With the cat pet, Peter, a failsafe I have had happen quite a lot is with the blue doctor. The blue doctor will pick up the moldy hearts with a chance to drop sheilds. A great counter to that cat, LoLz

I disagree on the explosive weapons. If you're careful you can avoid blowing yourself up, and the amount of extra loot from hidden walls and stone blocks and chests is really great.

I had no idea peter was supposed to be a bad pet...he has always been my favorite pet because the moldy hearts sometimes give you more hearts.

I'm going to disagree with you on explosive rounds. You have to play more methodically but when you can take out entire rooms before the enemy has a chance to get close to you is awesome. I just finished my first manager with a level 2 rocket launcher with slight homing capabilities. Yes, I hit myself a few times but the trade off is great. I was hitting bosses for 10 to 15 percent of their health per shot. That insanely powerful rocket launcher+demon wings+I think max hearts and shields made me unstoppable. I had the Iron Heart upgrade and made it to the final boss of my run with 0 hearts. I pummeled him into submission really quickly.

I just got done doing a playthrough of metroid fusion and this game was a challenge but the more I play the better I got to the point some bosses died before I could even say "what the?" If you master this game you can feel like a GOD .
