Purchased this 3hp (1000W) eOutboard for our 16' Alumicraft V-hull boat but I wanted to also test it on the drift boat.
Summary- it works great but it's really overkill on the drift boat on a lake.
Most efficient: 200W = 4mph with 4 hours run time from the built in LiPolymer battery.
Max. speed: 6mph
Next test at same location:
45# Minn Kota with new 50Amp-hour LiFePO4 battery (11 pounds!).

That's a pretty cool little motor, I have a little Minn kota, it does okay and weights, but it doesn't have very much push in the river, I use my gas outboard for that work, I'd be interested in seeing how it does against a slow river current

Was thinking about getting that motor with a 14’ Porta-bote for a light gear, putting it on top of my JLU Wrangler, to go fishing while camping…

I think that would be a great plan. The prop limits you to about 6mph regardless of the boat but if you only need to be at 50% power to go that speed, you get more hours out of the battery. Really pleased that I went with the ePropulsion motor.
