Why not get the facts of the new rules and rule changes from the Executive Counsel member that helped make it happen, Mark Baltazar.
Opinions are great, but when it comes to new rules as well as changes to existing rules, you need the FACTS! We wanted to make sure you got the facts straight from the NSCA. We wanted all competitors to understand what these changes are, why they were made, and what the NSCA is trying to accomplish with these changes.
As we all know to well, the Masters class has been one of the most debated topics as well as a debacle for a lot of competition shooters. We address this in this episode and how these changes can make it better!

I don't think it will affect the Master class pot negatively by reducing the number of Master Class shooters. I know I do not buy any options at big shoots because I have little chance of winning. Being down classed gives me the opportunity to win again, and I will buy options. I believe more people will buy options with the downclass introduction because they are put in a class that they can compete in. I am excited to hear there will be a Pro Class. I would be more inclined to buy options in Master class, knowing that I will not be competing against the Pros. I have faith that over the next 5 years and through refinement of the Classification system, a more fair system will come of it. Thanks Mark for explaining this. Thanks Jason and Sean.

The unrecognized problem is there’s a vast difference between shooting in New England and FL, TX, OH. In NE, the shoots are smaller, fewer punches available. In the other states, you’ll have a huge opportunities for punches at great shoots with 45+ shooters in class, trappers not SYO.

If there was more money in the sport then there would be a dedicated Pro Class. One option to be in that class would be if a competitor earned enough money from cash prizes that they had to claim taxes on it the previous year. There's no easy answer but at least they are trying. Great podcast.
