Isn't current supposed to to drop with increase in length? Recall Resistance is directly proportional to length of wire. Which mean when reisitance is higher, current will be lower. R=pL/A. Also R= V/I. Therefore V/I = pL/A. From my last equation V varies directly with L while I varies inversely with L. This means increase in L will result to increase in V while increase in L will result to decrease in I

@Steven Kalu I salute your sound knowledge in Physics Practical. You are a Scholar. Sir, NUMERICALLY, THE LENGTH ,L, of the wire is INCREASING DOWN THE TABLE. PRACTICALLY, THE LENGTH ,L,OF THE WIRE IS DECREASING ON THE POTENTIOMETER FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. Watch the video again. Thanks.

@@PhysicsWithBen OK. I get. Prolly the potentiometer need to be flipped laterally to align with convention. Examiners will look at the table and pass judgement

@@stephenkalu2115 That was how the table of values was structured that year. It will take one with a sound knowledge in experiment to observe what you and I observed. Even my students were confused and asked me, I told them exactly what I told you. But are you a student or a Teacher? I salute your Sound Knowledge in Physics.

Thanks for the observations. It could be a mistake from me. But the procedure and everything else is correct 💯. Mr Ben. Good work sir. Can you please explain why my connections to my potentiometer only gives readings on the voltmeter? The Ammeter remains on the zero mark whereas the voltmeter provides readings. PS: I followed all the basic rules stated in ur video

@PhysicsWithben I also experienced the same problem and followed your instructions to the later yet the ammeter did not give any reading

Good day, Sir, The ammeter not reading may be a result of so many factors. But I don't know the factor responsible for yours. 1. It could be a wrong connection. (When connected wrongly, it reads anticlockwise instead of clockwise). 2. The Ammeter may be bad, try and change it. 3. The connecting wires may be bad ( lack continuity ). Try and test for continuity or change the wires. 4. The battery 🔋 may be weak, try and get new ones. After doing this troubleshooting, I think 🤔 you can find your way out. @@PhysicsWithBen thanks boss for the reply. However I have tried all the options you mentioned but still no deflection , I even connected the ammeter in the same position as the voltmeter but yet no deflection. I then connected the ammeter alone to a different cell just to confirm if it is working and it showed proper deflection thereby indicating that the ammeter is working. So the voltmeter works but not the ammeter
