I love how she's displaying how Borzois think they're lap doggos. Ive owned many and this is all highly accurate.
@fuzzywzhe7 ай бұрын
I used to foster for Samoyeds, Huskies, Australian Shepherds, and Border Collies - every dog is a lapdog basically. I have never had a breed of dog that didn't like to at least occasionally enjoy lying on top of me. I've had a few dogs that didn't really care for it, but they were rare.
@swordofallah11296 ай бұрын
Every dog thinks they are a lap dog . I had a dog named big boy he thought he was a lap dog it was like a car trying to sit on your lap .
@fuzzywzhe6 ай бұрын
@@swordofallah1129 I had a dog that would lie on my back in bed. He'd put his two front paws on either side of my neck and rest his head against mine, and his two rear legs on either side of my waist. I would up with chest pains from the weight, but I slept very well. Just a wonderful and affectionate dog. I'll never had a dog that was just so great.

@@esperborzoi are they very easy to take care of and feed? My parents and I own 1 dog (miniature poodle) and 1 cat (Russian blue) but they don’t wanna get another dog or cat since my dog and cat are a pain to take care of. even though I want to get a borzoi. So I’m here to ask if their easy and non-stressful to take care of.
@esperborzoi Жыл бұрын
@@ethankhouri that’s a very tough question, they are easy in some ways but difficult in others and all dogs require love attention and proper diet. Furthermore , every dog is different, every borzoi therefore too, so determining if they are going to be a pain is nearly impossible. It’s probably best to have an honest conversation and see if there is any room for any additional animals in your life, and if not that’s ok and you can plan to get a borzoi at some point in the future when everyone is on board.

I adopted a year old Borzoi from a rescue about 9 months ago. She was in a situation living with a large number of Borzoi. The first 3 months was challenging. We also have 3 standard sized dachshunds, so that was another challenge. I had a Borzoi years ago that I got as a pup, and I have noticed a big difference with the behavior. I don't know if it is the stubborn trait or part of her past, but once she goes out in the yard, she won't come in until she is ready. We have tried numerous tricks to get her in. You are right, they are smart and catch on quickly. Next month I am taking her to obedience and hope that we have some success. We do love her and show her love all of the time. It took her a while, but now she cuddles with us on the sofa and she found a spot on the bed where she fits with the pack. They are a special breed and it take a lot of patience.
@esperborzoi4 жыл бұрын
Linda Hess-Layne you’re so right, patience is the key, especially with adopting - you never know what they went through prior. My parents adopted a 3 year old from overseas, she had a lot of medical and behavioral issues, and took her almost two years to really acclimate. Thank you so much for taking the time to write 👍♥️

Love this video, bro. I rescued a borzoi mix about three years ago. At first, I thought he didn't like me -- because, as you know, they are aloof. Thank GOD -- about two weeks after I got him -- the vet told me he was a borzoi and encouraged me to read about the breed because of their unique qualities. **After reading, everything made sense!!** I love what you said about their EQ. Oh, that's true. I learned early in our training just how sensitive he is. Borzois are great -- and so are you!

Shared my life with 4 magnificent Borzoi. The 1st, Ayuri van Asin (belonged to my friend) entered my life in 1976. That's when I fell in love with the breed. 2nd was "Andra Tobore" born in New York state in 1977. Soft and gentle and loving Andra. 3rd " Binze van Asin" (yes Yuri's younger sister) She was a "recycle" dog and very protective of me after dark. Never leaving my side and barking if people came too close. Never felt that save ever since. 4th.... My last Boy, my dear heart, "Perchotin's Czar Baryshnikov"( I called him Bree )born July 30th 1998-he died in 2009. Yes I've known Borzoi love and it still hurts, my missing him. I wish I could find another "recycle" Borzoi, an older one, since I'm older now too. But I don't know how to go about it. In the Netherlands where I live, you don't see many Borzoi and the Borzoi club, wasn't very forthcoming, so now I spend my live with 2 10 yr old Parson Jack Russells(!!!) Yes I know...the difference is very big. But I love them also of course. Maybe one day though.......

I loved my Borzoi pups that I raised over 20 years. Best dogs ever! If you pay attention to their exercise needs. They need a 5 mile run per day then they couch potato the other 23 hours a day. They need their own couch, they don't do floors! Only negative issues is that they don't live long enough! If you have a Borzoi over 10 years old you are so fortunate. If they get out of your yard do not chase on foot, get in car and start driving! It's the only way to catch up with them. My Borzoi were raised with horses cattle small dogs cats chickens rabbits and never chased or killed anything. My Borzoi were particularly good with children but occasionally on guard with male strangers. I thought that was odd behavior but I liked it because I believed Borzoi could sense an off energy. I especially liked how men choose to cross the street ahead of them to avoid them on walks. Kids walked right up to them to pet them. Borzoi really like that.

Admittedly I've never heard of borzois being referred to as 'hypoallergenic'. They can be heavy shedders (although shedding patterns can differ between sexes/coat types/etc), and the length of their fur means they readily pick up pollen from the outdoors. It's anecdotal, but I found out I was allergic to dogs because of my borzoi - we had only owned Bichon/Maltese mixes as kids, so my zoi was my first shedding breed and I pretty much have to load up on antihistamines when I want to groom him (and I have to do things like changing my sheets/blankets more often).
@lvsoad222 жыл бұрын
Being “hypoallergenic” has nothing to do with shedding patterns. It’s a protein on the skin that causes allergies in people. And yes, it will stick to hair that gets moved around but you can have dogs that don’t shed at all and still cause allergies. Likewise, dogs can shed a lot and cause no allergies.
@jermu87062 жыл бұрын
hello, very allergic to everything dude here. Shedding itself has nothing to do with how bad the allergies get, there are some breeds i can tolerate even though they shed a lot, and some that dont but i feel like im going to die if im in the same house for too long
@idiotically-everything6 ай бұрын
Yeah. In the spring when pollen is at it's highest, I become mildly allergic to my own dog xD It's not his fault my body is silly so I just take allergy meds and give him a quick rinse every night before he climbs in bed with me to get rid of all the pollen and dandruf he has collected in his curls. He does really like the blow drier.

Generally speaking, any hunting dogs requires training and motivation to get them to do things. They're not hunting so they're just kinda waiting for something they find fun, a dog who never played with a toy isn't going to find a toy fun unless it's motivated.
