yooo thanks for finding this!! For me it can go twice as big before it starts lagging! until now the only fix was changing the brush shape to circle but that changed the look of the brush a fair bit, this doesn't affect it too much. Pinned ;3

they should give me a cut of the sale ;p If you're still undecided: CSP is a very powerful and customizable program. You can set up the workspace however you want and the brush customisation is insane. However, it is a bit overwhelming at first, and the default brushes aren't that great in my opinion. Also, the engine is optimised for a wide range of tools, like vectors and 3d models, which means it's not the best brush engine out there. If all you want is a simple yet powerful painting tool, CSP is good but not worth the price. Go for romething like Corel Painter instead. For me it took a lot of tweaking and finding custom brushsets to get CSP to the level of Procreate's brushes. But, if you really want to have a program that does exactly what you want, the ability to make complex graphic design and supports design tools like vectors and 3d, go for CSP. Also, of you want to make comics/manga or do animations, CSP EX is indispensible!

Yeah it really sucks - I just use angle by direction of pen, it doesn’t have the same issue. Angle by rotation is even better if your pen supports it.

I’ll be sure to do that, thanks! I have some more custom brushes, but they are all the same sort of thing you can already find online (dry brushes, oils, etc...) I only shared this one because I have seen forum posts where people try to recreate it (From Sinix Design’s videos) and I think i did a decent job. Remember, CSP has a really flexible brush interface so it’s easy to create custom brushes. If there’s a specific effect you’re looking for you can probably make it yourself, just messing about with brush settings. And, if you run into an issue, I’d be happy to help!

@@FantonHike I remember seeing a video years ago about Clip Studio brushes that blend the colors if you apply less pressure. After that, I did multiple KZfaq searches to see if I could find tutorials & demos on Clip Studio brushes that blend when less pressure is applied. The funny thing is that I couldn't find any tutorials or even demonstrations on these types of Clip Studio brushes. I thought maybe I had imagined it and maybe it was a different program I saw it in. But, when I look back, I'm sure it was Clip Studio. There's just barely any KZfaq tutorials out there on Clip Studio brushes that blend when lessening the pen pressure. That's why this video immediately caught my interest because I haven't seen many other videos show this. I definitely hope you will cover these types of brushes if you do a blending or coloring tutorial on Clip Studio. It kinda sucks that Clip Studio has so many useful features but most users don't know about them.

The only way to make a brush diffuse in CSP is to increase texture density when pressure is decreased, this way you get hard edges (without texture) when pressing hard, and soft edges (with texture) when pressing lightly. Otherwise it gives that glassy, glossy feel we all despise. Perhaps try to change the texture to a more pronounced one, you can do that in Sub Tool Detail > Texture. Currently it’s on paper, but canvas also gives a nice feel for me. You can also mess with the texture density by pressure tab to fine-tune it, just make sure to also adjust the density of paint (Under Sub Tool Detail > Ink) accordingly. See what works for you.

I use some brushes from this set: www.deviantart.com/roastedstix/art/Dry-Brush-Pack-for-Manga-Studio-5-Ver-1-573226543 but they don’t have the same blending effect... perhaps you could mix and match?

Nope, I’ve tried but I can’t find where the problem is. I think the issue is that it upscales the size based on pen direction, which is why it is larger for its size than default brushes, and that’s laggier than just using a bigger brush size. If I find a fix I’ll let you know

Yup, doesn’t seem to work larger than that cutoff. You can increase the minimum size by going to Sub Tool Detail > Brush Size, click on the 2 ticks icon next to the brush size and increase the slider for ‘Minimum Value’. Alternatively, go to Sub Tool Detail > Brush Tip and try increasing the thickness. You can increase this to over 100 and it will increase the brush size without lag, but it will change the shape of the brush and make it more blocky. I’ve tried other things like changing the texture etc, to no success, but this brush can be modified in every way, so maybe there’s something I’m missing. Anyway I hope you find a solution!

I tried, three times, it got around 1,500 downloads within 2 days and then got removed... Asked around but I have no idea why, and my Japanese isn’t good enough to contact the admins to ask ;p

I’ve tried various fixes, but there’s nothing that doesn’t substantially change the brush that works. Looking at brushes of similar size, this isn’t really that surprising. However, one thing that definitely does reduce lag is changing the ‘brush tip’ from ‘material’ to ‘circle’. You might also want to decrease brush width to compensate for the rounded shape. This does change the brush’s shape, but the colour mixing properties remain. Let me know if this works, and whether it’s a viable solution for you. Hope this helps

I haven't tested this, but you can try this solution someone gave me: 'You can make it run out of paint by using the starting and ending section. Then turn brush density to 10, amount of paint to 0 and density of paint to 0. Then on how to specify make it fade and turn ending up to 1000'

@@beasierra6977 what OS are you on? Do you have a paid version or trial? Are you sure you're on the sub tool window (Window > Sub Tool) and not the Tool window?

The angle of the brush is set by default to ‘direction of pen’, which is essentially the tilt. However, if your pen doesn’t have tilt sensitivity, then go into Window > Sub Tool Detail > Brush Tip > Angle and click on the little icon at the right side of the slider. This will open a window called ‘Angle Dynamics’. Here you can change what variable affects the angle of the brush. By default this is set to ‘Direction of pen’, but can also be set to ‘rotation of pen axis’ for Wacom Art pen users or set to a specific angle on the slider. Setting it to ‘Direction of Line’ will mean the angle will follow the line and thus have a fixed width. Try some of these options and see which one is best for you, and is compatible with your pen and tablet. If none of them suit your needs, just set the brush thickness to 100, which will mean there is no angle. I hope this works!

I can't remember unfortunately. First make sure you have the correct .sut file of about 1.3MB. If it's crashing it might be a ram issue - try opening CSP, then open up task manager, right click csp, click go to details, then right click clipstudiopaint.exe, set priority to high. Now try dragging in the .sut file. If it still doesnt work then try the Quopat brush from epsylxn.cfw.me/assets it's similar and you can modify it to be more like the Tribrush. If even this doesn't work, I can send you the pressure texture settings that give the hard edge/blend effect.

@@FantonHike Seems like the issue ain't witht he brush or the ram. Recently I did a format to my laptop though I got it to a tech since it also needed other stuff and even upgraded my ram to 12gb. It seems like I can't install a brush in .sut in general. I reinstalled the programme. Even grabbed an older version of it I had since I have saved in my external hard disk version 1.5.0 with all the brushes already installed. I had a clean instal of 1.11.0 and still it can't work. I will ask Celsys seems like something like a component is missing which I can't figure out. Still thanks a lot

@@FantonHike Once again thank you so much for the fast reply (customer service COULD NEVER!). Finally after many uninstalls and reinstalls and tweaks I fixed it. Download and installed bot brushes (sinix and Quopat) and they're amazing! They help a lot with focusing on designing the shape of stuff (like sculpting) without having this more digitalized smoothness most brushes have so thanks a lot! @@benjaminchinonso4345 Perhaps, but it seems unlikely, unless you're on a really old or unregistered version, because the .sut format for brushes has been around for a while, and you can import other brushes. The only other explanation that I can think of is that you've at some point deleted a default texture or sometheing, and thus the brush is trying to load sometheng that's no longer there. Unfortunately, I don't know if there is a fix for this. If everything else fails, try downloading the second brush on this page (Quopat): epsylxn.cfw.me/assets It's very similar, just uses slightly different materials.

Textured brushes just lag out above a certain size. This one should go up to around 370 pixels wide without lag. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a way to allow it to go bigger.

I'm pretty sure it's possible, as I've seen othes CSP bsushes posted to PS, but you'd need a copy of both to get it to work. Best solution is probably just to look at the effects and try to emulate them in PS's bsush editor.

this brush only works because of pressure sensitive texture density, which I dont think PS has.... I'm sure a port is possible but I don't think CSP settings will help. Lemme know if you succeed :)

yes, unfortunately it lags horrendously at a size over 40... no fix as of yet, (mainly because I never use very large canvases) but I’m looking into it
