Matt gets heated and goes on a rant about the intelligence of the engineer that designed the chopper system on CaseIH combines after he has a bearing go down. Carter gets some exercise chasing local wildlife out of the field. Matt explains the difference between bearded and beardless wheat. Matt has to buy an expensive puller to fix his combine.

Your blessed to have some really good help Matt, it's hard to find someone today that you can send to do a job and not only do they get it done they take pride in the outcome !!

It is great that farmers are able to readily (at a cost) obtain data on yield if they run real life, well thought out, experiments in the field. Just like Mr Griggs is doing here. The problem I am concerned about is the farming economics that are being strained to the limit by all this new "technology". How to make smart decisions is absolutely necessary for family farms to succeed.

Another super job on the filming. You have a good grasp on making even repetitious things interesting by your subtle placement of cameras. I really and truly enjoy the videos you show. Thanks a lot

hi, I think you dontunderstood the design of low and high speed, the small wheel high speed drives only the chopper, the big wheel low speed drives the whole right side of the combine plus sieves, if you move the clutch to low speed (big wheel) one belt drives almost the whole combine. .. and the small wheel rotates freely on the axis sorry for my english i hope you understand ☺

I see that style snap ring all the time there's one on the inside of a turbo housing on a board waggoner 366 as well sometimes on your wheel bearings

The low speed belt is always running the right side of the machine, hence the shaft in a shaft.

I had the same problem on my combine. I was replacing the bearing 3 times a year. I had to install a new chopper. You might have get your chopper rebalanced,

We had the same thing happen on our combine this wheat harvest. I had some choice words for that design too. It may be ok for those guys up north that are switching back and forth from corn and beans a lot but I agree with you Matt it's a BAD design.

The low speed pully is what powers the elivator, rethrasher, shaker, and the chopper for low speed. High speed pully only runs the chopper when ingaged. It makes sense why there are so many bearings. Is a wheat soybean double crop more profitable than corn on average?

Matt I have said that for years I believe the engineer's set around the tables at some country club and after a few beers go well what can we screw up on a peice of equipment that when it breaks will just thurally piss off that farmer and they get a notification when someone has to order that part and sit there and laugh there ass off

No tools to move from high to low. Very likely a mandatory design criteria. NOT the fault of the engineer. Blame the marketing department.
