I watched this video several times. Really enjoyed it. I worked on my grandfather’s farm in mid-60’s when we converted from horse to tractor. Farmed 365 acres plus rental land with a John Deere 1010 and a 24T baler. Beef cattle and sheep. Three jerseys that we milked by hand for our use (grandmother made butter). Used a 49 ford stake truck to pick up bales. We had to learn a lot converting from horse to tractor and loose hay in barns to bales. Long days and hard work. I’m retired now. I still get up at 5am, watch your videos, and wonder how things would have turned out had I stayed on the farm.

Can’t have too many tractors. Your Dad’s a great storyteller. Combined with the great video and editing, it makes for a thoroughly informative and interesting video. I recently purchased a 15 year old Kubota tractor, very clean, low hours, garage kept, one owner, etc. Paid almost what it sold for new. Good tractors are a sound investment.

I was a John Deere mechanic for several years, and I can say the John Deere 4020 was one of the most iconic tractors ever built. I don't think John Deere ever thought that the 4020 would still be in use over 60 years after it was introduced. When you do it right, it last....... and I think that's why your farm is going to be around for a long time........a long long time.

My 1951 John Deere A , same age as me, mows grass all day long, stored dry, oil changes every year. Quality! It lived in Ohio before I had it shipped to me in New Hampshire 5 years ago. Your correct about not storing everything in one bldg. Never park your bombers together out on the air field. Remember Pearl Harbor 🇺🇲✌️

Regarding your straight M, check the front bolster for the date it came off the line. Stand on the right side, look between the 2 front wheels and it will be stamped vertically on the front of the bolster. You might have to take a wet cloth to make it more legible. The same with your SMTA; however, it should read "1954". This is the second time I have watched this video which is very well done. My dad owned 5 Farmalls and 2 ACs over his 27 year farming venture. My favorites = the Farmall 450 (with a Fast Hitch) and the AC WD-45. Thanks again for taking the time to film your stable of tractors.

Thanks for this video. As a former farm boy, it is interesting to see what you have and how it works in today's farming world. Grew up on a JD centric farm in the 1950s and 60s. Remember one (maybe two) Bs, a 50 a G and a 730. There had also been a Case 10-30 which was a belt tractor for the Allis blower. We also had a Ford 8N which I probably spent 100s of hours operating. We worked with two brother neighbors who were IH Farmall guys. I spent considerable time on their H, M and 300 during silage season running wagons to the silos. Sorry for all the reminiscing. Watching the farming and tractor videos on YT has me wishing I could get some tractor time again.

I love your shows.Don’t be afraid of showing more of the dairy cows and all the problems that can show up with higher production. I did most of the treating to save on vet expenses. Problem at the end of the day was keeping up and having the time to do it. You guys have a great channel going. Excellent videos. Keep them coming.

Fascinating stories. Buying a tractor that was the demise of a person's life. I don't know if I could get on it right away but once you have it, you use it. It is a great reminder to remember to be careful whenever you operate any tractor. I'm in the group that would opt to restore the M. I also like that you have tractors of every flavor. Well here I am to help spend your $$. All the parts your dad was talking about needing if you took the cab off the 1066 - steps, battery trays and covers, and flat top 2 and 1 light fenders are all available newly manufactured by a company out of Mich. called Steiner tractors". I and my cousins have used their parts many times when restoring our old Farmall's H,M,SM-ta, 400, and 450D. Found their quality very high and the prices while not cheap they are reasonable. Some of the fender parts may only be primed /unpainted, but a few rattle cans from your local Case-IH dealer should do the trick. Also I believe the black stripes were '76 models but that not important.

I would have loved to have the tractors you have when my dad was Dairy farming. We were milking around 65 cows and had 250 or so acres and never had a 4wd and until we started chopping haylage we farmed with (2) 674's and a 544 gas. We then bought a case 1410 and then a IH 886 for chopping. We did rake for some time with an Oliver 60.
