Why share business with spouses or incomes with spouses. Everything should be in writing, but in Pakistan there may be no protection by laws. A woman should always have a property under her name. Start working at early age with higher education , professional job become financially independent. Have an account under your name only. Take financial education and save for your retirement years . Also , a man should be able to afford a family independently in a small apt. No concept of joint family system. One need to have wise, (not emotional) support system. It is very surprising that she was not able to find any strong muslim support sytem. And this is what we are lacking, since we are all so judgmental. In our culture men are not made responsible at early age and the automatic privileges that we have provided them as a community in the past years , have made it worse. This old model you will see in all muslim world , which has nothing to do religion. Hazrat Khadija was a businesswoman, who remarried again, with her own choice. She sent the proposal to prophet Muhammad pbuh. Also, women should travel by themselves, and meet other cultures. Recently, alot of Pakistani women are getting married to converted south korean men. Before getting married ,need to checkout the person and family for at-least 2 years. Also, when getting married prenuptial agreement or meher concept needs to be reviewed. And dont divide any property till both parents passes away. In most of the cases women widows are then totally dependent financially on adult children, which is not a good idea. Will of a muslim adult man and woman should be prepared early on.
