I just finished watching Erased. Such an amazing series. The ending was quite emotional.

----SPOILERS!!!!!!------ A lot of people were salty that Kayo didn't wait 15 YEARS for Satoru. But I think thematically it works, as revival typically screws Satoru over, but helps everyone else out. I mean, I was sad that Satoru didn't end up with her as well, but realistically, no person would wait 15 years for someone who may never wake up, sure it is a romantic idea, but they all had their own lives to live. It also follows the namesake of the show, "The Town Without Me" Life went on without Satoru.

The fact that they didn’t get married illustrates one of the realities that makes this show so beautiful. He did all of this with no intent to get something out of Kayo. For the first time in her life someone showed her love with no strings attached. The fact that she was given a future was what he got out of it. Prior to that the best future she could invision for herself was to simply leave and go to a place where nobody else exists. After meeting Saturo, his mom, and friends she was able to conceive a life where she was surrounded by others who care for her and man that still gets me. What an amazing story

After watching the entire show (it's a masterpiece I recommend everyone watch it even if you have like 5 hrs to live), and then listening to these lyrics it just fits so well with the show, and is heart breaking yet also fantastic at the same time.

Domestic violence is twisted and Erased brings attention to this issue.

This translation speaks to me on a level that I can't really describe. I feel like I'm always waiting for other people to do something that I expect, and I always make the same mistake and never learn even when it hurts me in the end. "I waited for you, I waited for you" makes me think of someone feeling frustrated, but then realizing it was a problem they had a part in creating when they say "I made a mistake I could never undo." I know the intention of the song is different, but that's how I view it. When you realize you made a mistake, and you can't go back, it's absolutely crushing. And coming to terms with the fact that it was on you is a hard pill to swallow. Love all of you guys reading this, and I hope things get better if you're not in a great place

Even though I'm sad she married someone else, it's logical, and healthy, that she moved on. I mean, she didn't even know whether ge would ever wake up. If she obssessed over a sleeping person who could potentially be asleep forever, well, she'd suffer depression. And the Protagonist wanted her to be happy, remember?

On November 23, 2015, I lost one of my best friends to suicide. It was after a period of him wanting to distance himself from everyone and to this day I regret not catching the hint. I was so wrapped up in day to day life: college, working, extracurricular... that I forgot to even check on him. Right before the bullet hit his head on a Sunday night he sent me a text. "Sorry I have to do this. I always loved you most." I looked at the text... and put my phone right back in my pocket. He always said stuff like that before he would disappear for a few days and ignore the world. He was rushed to the hospital, brain dead, as his parents decided to pull the plug the next day. I found out three days later, and I was devastated. I still think about him everyday and wonder... If i have just drove to his house when I got that text... would he still be here? If i just... If i would have... What if i... These were all questions my mind mixed as I tried to carry on with my day to day that was still so busy. All that my other friends could say to me was "it's not your fault" "you'll get over it eventually". But the scars stayed. I went through months in a fog... not depression... but sadness. The "what if"'s consumed me as I kept trying to "get over it". To this day, i still think that if i would have just said something... then i could have saved him. but... you can't be a hero all the time. You can't do everything, but you can do everything you're capable of. Be that shoulder to cry on and that person to vent to. You never know when you are saving someone. I love ERASED and although the story is a little different than mine, this song means everything to me because it reminds me of my dear friend AJ, and for that, I really thank you, AmaLee. This song is absolutely beautiful!

I was disappointed that many people say Kayo didn't wait for Satoru. I'm Japanese. I can tell that this story is not a love story of Kayo and Satoru. Satoru just wanted to save Kayo's life because he didn't want to lose his mother. his mother gave Satoru all her life and took care about her son for 15 years, belived that Satoru's wake.

For those who say his girl didn't wait, Kayo was never his girl (as sad as that is to say). While in the original timeline he had interacted with her it was merely because of a coincidence or maybe fate? (So he wold know how to act when the time came for him to save her? I mean he became intertwined ,and stepped into her life,;her darkness, for a couple of weeks right? While in that short time he made a enormous impact on her life and saved it that was just his mission, his purpose for having the power of revival, to undo the wrongs. The moments he shared with her and what he went through to save her were heartwarming, courageous and so much more, but it was sort of fake in the sense of if she was never killed he never would've saved her from her mother and that death. My point is sort of jumbled but I think that it was his duty to save her, and that she lived 15 years with out him, felt emotions, grew and so much more compared to that short time Satoru came into her life. It would've been nice to seem them get together but that just wouldn't seem as natural compared to her marrying some else such as Hiromi Sugita as she did. And honestly I can't wait to start reading the gaiden of Kayo's life experince durint the time after Satoru fell into coma. And... I know this is wishful thinking... but I'd love to see more stories in this world or at least what becomes of satoru, does he get with airi or not? does she somehow remember the original timeline or the failed first one (which isn't that much different although when they did the gag with them trying to trick us readers into thinking her last name changed because of the revival that was kinda funny lol)? I feel like a followup would be needed but could never live up to what I want it to be or any of us want it to be. Also it would be cool to see the thoughts behind satorus and yashiro powers as in if there is more to it like others with powers of good and evil or something to do with their powers being divine intervention to undo yashiros doings? Although I feel as if any more insight to the powers would ruin that of sorts. Ps. I binged the show yestarday on 9/4/2020 and finished it on the next day around 12:2~ am 9/5/2020 and I'm wrighting this on 9/5/2020

You guys, he just wanted to save her because he deduced that’s what he was sent back for because the timing matched up, his friends teased him about having a crush on her and he just rolled with it because that cover made sense, but he really never actually felt that way about her. When they reunited after he woke up he reacted the way he did because it finally worked, she was alive and living a good life, and he was happy for that.

This anime destroyed me emotionally. The breakfast scene made me cry and I hardly ever cry at TV show, movie, or anime. :'(

This is the song that got me into Amalee covers. Five years ago, I was just getting into anime, and ERASED was the anime that got me into anime. I was scrolling Deviantart of all things and there was a link to this song. It’s amazing how much she’s changed, and I’m really glad I’ve been here to see it.

All the people shipping Kayo and Satoru really don't seem to understand what was going on. It was never a romance (nor should it have been as Satoru had the mind of a 29 year old guy I remind you!). What it was about was Satoru helping save his childhood friend and help her have a future. Having her get married and have a child whilst he was in a coma was the best possible outcome that could have happened. It meant that it wasn't all in vain, that he had managed to save her. So many people seem to be more interested in forcing romance into a situation than actually paying attention what the show is about.

For everybody saying his killer waited but no his girl see the killer had nothing going for his life the girl still had a whole future plus his mom told her to move on would you sit there and wait for you’re girl/bf to wake up for years or go start your life imagine you die in a car accident the next day you wasted you’re life could’ve had a family or something

A call to their story and the title! It sent shivers down my spine! Man, why are you so awesome at this!? This is just beautiful.

I adore the way this was arranged. It works so much better starting slowly, and slowly building up to that more fast paced the original song was. It lets you appreciate the lyrics and really start getting into the feeling of what the song is about. And the ending is arranged to almost feel chaotic and it works just so beautiful.

Watched erased quite a while ago now and everytime I come back to listen to the songs I always end up crying. All of the songs are amazing because they literally have a full story written in them. I love erased with all my heart.

A whole lot of people don't know the premise of this anime/manga to make comments like the girl should have waited. The only reason the guy went back, to begin with, was to save his mother from being murdered, his friendship with the girl was second. That is why he is so happy to see her alive and happy when he wakes up from his coma.

Honestly I've never even watched Erased, but the idea this puts into my head makes me keep coming back to this song. Two people who care about each other. One of them dies before their time. The other, in desperation, acquires a way to turn back time and try to save their loved one. With each failed attempt the would-be savior gets older and older as the time travel wears on their body. Finally, as an old and withering person, they figure out how to save the one they love. One last rewind sends them back just as they were dying of old age. In return, their loved one lives, oblivious to the sacrifice that was made.
